Via announced the EPIA NR Nano-ITX mainboard, powered by a fanless 1.0GHz VIA C7 processor and VIA CX700 system media processor.

Measuring just 12cm x 12cm, it provides Serial ATA and IDE hard drive connectors and Compact Flash for local OS storage in industrial automation. Moreover, an extensive I/O set includes broadband Ethernet as well as a mini-PCI port, USB2.0, COM, LPC and Super I/O headers.

The VIA EPIA NR Nano-ITX mainboard is powered with up to 1GB of DDR2 533 system memory 
Expansion, including a further 4 COM ports (through the LPC interface), and both USB and mini-PCI based wireless modules.

Asrock Ships Conroe1333-DVI/H Mobo

Asrock has announced the Conroe1333-DVI/H, a board for entry-level market. It features Intel 945GC A2 chipset. Although Intel's official maximum FSB support for the chipset is only up to 800MHz, ASRock has been able to reach 1333MHz allowing the motherboards to support the new Core 2 Duo E6050-series processors. Prices around USD 60. Check below the specifications:

  • CPU: LGA 775 for Intel Dual Core Core 2 Extreme / Core 2 Duo / Pentium D / Pentium
  • Dual Core / Pentium 4 / Celeron / Celeron D (compatible with all FSB1333/1066/800/533MHz processors except Quad Core).

Motherboard ASUS has released the 3rd Generation Black Pearl Special Edition P5K Premium motherboard, which supports the Intel Core2 Extreme / Core2 Quad /Core2 Duo chipsets. Asus says that the new motherboard utilizes technologies to provide overclocking up to 100% faster speeds in water-cooled systems. Biostar releases TP35D3-A7 Deluxe, motherboard for LGA 775 socket, which support Intel Core 2 Quad/ Core 2 Duo/Celeron 400 Series Processors. This model has support of full 1333 MHz FSB, Dual DDR3 1066/800MHz 4 x DDR3 DIMM (up to 8 GB) and comes with 2 x E-SATA and 6 x USB 2.0 ports to support more devices of user. There are 3 more USB 2.0 headers to support 6 USB 2.0 ports for front panel.

There is a SPACE–Pipe onboard, a new silent north bridge cooling device. It uses a heat-pipe to conduct heat from the chipset heatsink to a PWM fin-heatsink collection module. Airflow from the CPU fan then removes the heat collected from the CPU, the chipset, and PWM fin-heatsink, effectively cooling your system with no additional noise. And all of this is based on advanced materials used in the space industry.

Gigabyte Announces P35 Series of Mobos

Gigabyte announced the P35 Series of motherboards, based on Intel P35 chipset and introducing the latest Gigabyte Ultra Durable 2 design, which, according to manufacturer, 'features top quality, highly efficient components for enhanced system reliability, cooling working temperatures, longer durability and exceptional overclocking abilities'.

The series also supports the latest multi-core processors up to FSB 1333 MHz, including the upcoming 45 nm platform, and offers both DDR2 1066 and DDR3 1333 memory support, dual PCI Express connectivity, Realtek ALC889A audio, integrated SATA 3Gb/s with RAID function.

The Gigabyte P35 also features a copper Silent Pipe thermal solution covering the north bridge, south bridge and CPU power MOSFETs, reducing the general CPU zone temperature.

The first motherboard available is the GA-P35-DQ6. Soon, another 6 P35's models will be available.

Gigabyte Launches 690 Series of Motherboards

GIGABYTE launched the new 690 Series of motherboards, including the GA-MA69G-S3H and GA-MA69GM-S2H. They feature AMD 690G chipset with ATI Radeon X1250 graphics core, and support AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core processors, a variety of display outputs including RGB, YPbPr and S-video as well as fully integrated DVI/HDMI and HDCP. They also enable support for up to six independent monitors.

Utilizing the latest Realtek ALC889A, the GIGABYTE 690 Series enable Audio which supports both Blu-ray and HD DVD formats. The series come with overclocking tools to optimize system performance, user-friendly BIOS management utilities and enhanced BIOS protection features.

NVidia Announces nForce 680i LT SLI Chipset

NVidia has announced a new chipset for motherboard. The nForce 680i LT SLI chipset can be used with Intel processors and, according to the company, it is engineered for extreme gamers.

The platform supports 1333 MHz FSB processors including Intel Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extreme, Dual x16 PCI Express slots with support for NVIDIA SLI multi-GPU technology, RAID 5, RAID Morphing, and networking packet prioritization for clear VOIP and improved online gaming experiences, says the release.

Nvidia's reference motherboard includes four DDR2-800 and the DIMM slot, offering a maximum capacity of 8 GB

It will be available for under USD 200.
