Lots of people say their work is a pain, and according to a new Microsoft Healthy Computing Survey, most of them aren’t kidding. Of those surveyed, 85 percent said they experience discomfort on a daily basis as a result of their workspace setup.
The survey coincides with Microsoft’s announcement of the next evolution of its ergonomic products – the Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop –, the goal of which was to create something beautiful without sacrificing the ergonomic benefits provided by the industry-renowned Natural Ergonomic Keyboard and Mouse.
The Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop is a combination of the Sculpt Ergonomic Keyboard and the Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse. The keyboard incorporates a split layout designed to help position the wrists and forearms in a natural, relaxed position.
The palm rest is cushioned and the keyboard has a domed shape to reduce wrist pronation. It also allows for reverse-tilt angles to promote a straight, neutral wrist position. All these adjustments to a traditional keyboard put your body in the best possible position for comfort and ergonomics.
The Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse also encourages natural postures. The mouse is taller than most mice, thereby reducing contact between desktop surface and the underside of your hand, which helps minimize carpal tunnel pressure. And the angle of the mouse puts the forearm in a more relaxed position. All these ergonomic benefits should change the way you feel when using a mouse for long periods of time.
The complete Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop set will be sold for USD 129.95.

Razer has just announced that the Razer Goliathus gaming mouse mat has been redesigned. The new gaming surface further distinguishes itself from other gaming mouse mats, which commonly lack the performance-maximizing features the Razer Goliathus provides.
Maintaining the beloved speed-enhancing and control-precise features of its predecessor, the redesigned Razer Goliathus gaming mouse mat delivers maximum performance to propel users to gaming stardom. Now imbued with a dense, anti-fraying, long-lasting stitched frame, the surface stays sharp for consistent tournament pwnage.
The “Control Edition” of the Goliathus features a heavy weave with micro-textures on the surface, which provides just the right amount of friction to your gaming mouse’s movements, affording pixel-precise targeting for absolute in-game accuracy. The cloth weave also provides a nice, comfortable feel under your hand, minimizing fatigue over extended periods of play. The Razer Goliathus’ anti-slip rubber base ensures that the mat does not slide around during your most intense gaming sessions.
