Walton Chaintech has announced the launch of its Apogee Pronto eSATA/USB flash memory. Available in 32 GB and 64 GB models, Apogee Pronto products provide maximum read and write speeds of 93 MB/s and 52 MB/s, respectively, via eSATA, and 32 MB/s and 25 MB/s, respectively, through USB 2.0. No word on pricing and availability.

Memory Following Kingston’s footsteps, now it’s time for Patriot to launch its flash memory with 128 GB capacity. This product is part of Patriot Xporter Magnum series, provides a read speed of up to 31 MB/s and supports ReadyBoost technology, a feature brought by Windows Vista that allows flash memories to be used as a disk cache in order to improve the system performance. No word on pricing.

Kingston Unveils DataTraveler 200 Series

Kingston has unveiled DataTraveler 200 flash memory series, including 32 GB (USD 120), 64 GB (USD 213) and 128 GB (USD 546) models. DataTraveler 200 products have a retractile USB connector, support ReadyBoost technology, a feature brought by Windows Vista that allows flash memories to be used as a disk cache in order to improve the system performance, and Password Traveler software, which allows the users to create and access a password-protected area of the drive.

G.Skill Rolls Out DDR3-2133 Perfect Storm Memory Kit

G.Skill has launched a 6 GB (3 x 2 GB) triple-channel DDR3-2133 memory kit. This new kit is available in the G.Skill Perfect Storm family and its memory modules work at 2,133 MHz with 9-9-9-24 timings at 1.65 V. Paired with the new Perfect Storm kit launch, G.Skill also put on the market Turbulence memory cooler (featuring a fan with speed of 3,500 rpm; maximum noise level of 21.2 dBA; maximum air flow or 7.75 CFM). No word on pricing and availability.

Patriot Gives 3DMark Vantage Software with Viper II Memory Kits

Patriot has announced the launch of three Viper II DDR3 memory kits that come with the benchmarking software Futuremark 3DMark Vantage (customers will be supplied with an activation code in which they can go to Futuremark's website and download 3DMark Vantage). The following kits were announced:

  • PV236G1800LLKB: 6 GB (2 GB x 3) DDR3 triple-channel kit clocked at 1,800 MHz with 8-8-8-24 timings at 1.65 V.
  • PV236G1866LLKB: 6 GB (2 GB x 3) DDR3 triple-channel kit clocked at 1,866 MHz with 7-8-8-24 timings at 1.65 V.
  • PV236G2000LLKB: 6 GB (2 GB x 3) DDR3 triple-channel kit clocked at 2,000 MHz with 8-8-8-24 timings at 1.65 V.

Patriot Debuts Viper II Memory Series

Patriot has just announced its Viper II memory series. Available in 6 GB (3 x 2 GB) triple-channel kits and in 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) dual-channel kits, Viper II modules feature an aluminum heatspreader and support XMP (Extreme Memory Profiles) technology, which allows memory modules to negotiate with the motherboard chipset the best latencies and highest clock rate they can work in order to provide the highest possible performance. No word on pricing.

  • PV234G1600LLK: 4 GB DDR3 dual-channel kit clock at 1,600 MHz with 7-7-7-20 timings at 1.9 V.

Memory Kingston has announced the launch of its 12 GB (3 x 4 GB) triple-channel DDR3-1600 memory kit. This new kit is available in the Kingston HyperX family (other kits are available in 3 GB and 6 GB capacities with frequencies up to 2 GHz), has CL9-9-9-27 timings at 1.65 V and support XMP (Extreme Memory Profiles) technology, which allows memory modules to negotiate with the memory controller the best latencies and highest clock rate they can work in order to provide the highest possible performance. Patriot has announced the launch of its newest memory series targeted to gamers. Named G, modules from this series are available in 4 GB and 6 GB kits using DDR3 or DDR2 technologies. No word on pricing and availability.

Transcend Presents USB Flash Memory with Antivirus Program

In cooperation with Trend Micro, Transcend has devised a USB flash memory that comes with a preloaded antivirus program. Called JetFlash V15, this new USB memory is able to scan all the files stored on it and alert the user of any malicious programs, like viruses, spyware etc. The only drawback is that the antivirus is a 90-day trial program and people interested to keep this functionality will have to pay for it after this period. JetFlash V15 is available in 4 GB and 8 GB capacities. There’s no word on pricing and availability.
