OCZ Launches DDR2-1000 nVidia SLI-Ready

OCZ has increased its nVidia SLI-Ready product line with the launch of DDR2-1000 (PC2-8000) memory modules optimized specifically for nVidia chipsets. These modules work at 1,000 MHz, have 5-4-4-15 timings at 2.1 V and are available in 2 GB modules and 4 GB kits. Also, they support EPP (Enhanced Performance Profiles) technology that allows memory modules negotiate with memory controller betters timings and the higher clock under which they can work in order to achieve the best performance. This technology works only with nVidia chipsets.

Corsair Launches DDR3-2133

Corsair has increased its Dominator product line with the launch of a 2,133 MHz (PC3-17066) DDR3 memory module. Available in 2 GB kits (TW3X2G2133C9DF) this module features Dual-path Heat Xchange (DHX) technology that uses convection and conduction methods to remove heat from the memory module. This memory has been verified to operate at 2,133 MHz at latencies of 9-9-9-24 at 2.0 V on nVidia 790i-based motherboards.

Sony Announces 8 GB M2 Card

Sony has announced an 8 GB Memory Stick Micro card (M2), twice the capacity of the company’s most capacious M2 card currently available. This M2 card comes with a USB adaptor allowing you to read your data using a computer. Sony didn't say how much this card will cost and when it will reach the market.

Transcend has released aXeRam DDR3-1800+ Extreme Performance memory modules designed specifically for gamers and overclocking enthusiasts. These modules are available in 2 GB kits, has typical voltage of 1.8 V, 8-8-8-24 timings, aluminum heatsink and feature XMP (Intel Extreme Memory Profiles), which allows memory modules to negotiate with memory controller betters timings and the higher clock under which they can work in order to achieve the best performance. This feature works only with Intel X38 and X48 chipsets.

Walton Chaintech Releases EPP APOGEE GT Memory Modules

Walton Chaintech has just launched a new memory modules line within APOGEE GT series featuring EPP and EPP 2.0 technologies. EPP (Enhanced Performance Profiles) technology allows DDR2 memory modules negotiate with memory controller betters timings and the higher clock under which they can work in order to achieve the best performance. EPP 2.0 technology is an improvement over EPP technology to support DDR3 memory modules. Both technologies work only with nVidia chipsets. The following products were launched:

  • DDR2-1066 (EPP) - 5-5-5-15 timings at 1.9V
  • DDR2-1150 (EPP) - 5-5-5-15 timings at 2.1V.
  • DDR3-1600 (EPP 2.0) - 8-7-7-18 timings at 1.8V
  • DDR3-1800 (EPP 2.0) - 8-8-8-24 timings at 1.9V
  • DDR3-2000 (EPP 2.0) - 9-9-9-27 timings at 2.1V.

Corsair Intros 4 GB DOMINATOR DDR3

Corsair is going to launch the new 4 GB DOMINATOR DDR3 memory kit running at 2000 MHz at CompuTex 2008. Available in 4 GB DOMINATOR kits,  it features the DHX cooling, quad-layer heat sink design to maximize thermal dissipation. With DHX Technology, heat is removed via two paths - the leads of the BGA chips into the PCB (conductive cooling) and the back of the BGA packages into the custom designed extruded aluminum heat sinks (convective cooling). The new kit is priced at USD 675.

Kingston today announced that its HyperX 1800MHz DDR3 memory has been certified under the Intel Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) validation program.  According to Mark Tekunoff, senior technology manager of Kingston, 'many of our motherboard partners, including ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte, have released XMP-ready offerings that can take immediate advantage of HyperX XMP-certified memory on current X38 and X48 platforms'.

When paired with select Intel X38/X48 series-based motherboards, Kingston HyperX modules increase overall system performance, guarantees Kingston.

Corsair Dominator Hits 2462 MHz

Corsair announced that its Labs has set the world record for the highest achieved DDR3 frequency. A single-rank 1GB module achieved a speed of 2462MHz at CL=9. This record was set using Corsair's DOMINATOR DDR3 memory module paired with an Asus P5E3 Premium motherboard based on the Intel X48 chipset.
