nVidia has just officially launched GeForce 9400 GT graphics card. This card runs at 550 MHz and it has 16 shader processors running at 1,400 MHz. As for memory, this graphics card have 512 MB GDDR2 running at 400 MHz (800 MHz DDR) being accessed through a 128-bit interface. GeForce 9400 GT supports PhysX and CUDA technologies, and it features dual-link DVI, VGA and S-Video connectors. Below we list the manufacturers that already launched models based on this new nVidia graphics card.

Palit Launches Radeon HD 4870 Sonic Edition

Palit has increased its Sonic line-up with the launch of Radeon HD 4870 Sonic Dual Edition video card. This card has several interesting features like Dual-BIOS (where the video card has two BIOS; if the user accidentally damages one of them during overclocking the card will continue working using the other BIOS) and Smart Switch. This Palit card works in two modes: standard mode (core clock of 750 MHz and memory clock of 3,800 MHz DDR) or overclocking mode (core clock of 775 MHz and memory clock of 4,000 MHz DDR). Users can easily switch between standard mode and overclocking mode by pressing a little switch found on video card’s rear panel. Palit Radeon HD 4870 Sonic Dual Edition has 512 MB GDDR5 and uses a cooler featuring three heatpipes and two fans, an 80 mm in charge of cooling the GPU and the memory chips, and other 70 mm in charge of cooling the VRM. No word about price and availability.

MSI has launched a Radeon HD 4870 graphics card equipped with 1 GB GDDR5 memory. R4870-T2D1G, as it is called, has the same specification of the Radeon HD 4870 standard (core clock of 750 MHz and memory clock of 3,600 MHz – 900 MHz DDR – and 256-bit interface) and it is designed for the users who demand more memory for specific applications like rendering. Information about price and availability wasn’t disclosed.

AMD/ATI Launches Radeon HD 4870 X2

AMD/ATI has just officially launched Radeon HD 4870 X2, a PCI Express x16 video card equipped with two HD 4870 GPUs. This new video card works at 750 MHz and it accesses its 2 GB GDDR5 at 900 MHz (real) thru a 256-bit memory interface. The new GDDR5 memories are capable of transferring four data per clock cycle, so this video card memories achieve a maximum transfer rate of 115.2 GB/s, as if they were running at 3.6 GHz. AMD/ATI also announced the launch of Radeon HD 4850 X2 (a video card equipped with two HD 4850 GPUs working at 635 MHz and has 2 GB GDDR3). The Radeon HD 4870 X2 is immediately available priced at USD 549, while the ATI Radeon HD 4850 X2 is scheduled to be available in September at an estimated price of USD 399. Below you can see the names of graphics card manufacturers that have just released models based on this new AMD/ATI video card.

Zotac has just launched a GeForce 9800 GTX+ graphics card equipped with a watercooling solution. ZOTAC GeForce 9800 GTX+ ZONE Edition, as it is called, has the same specification of standard GeForce 9800 GTX+, i.e. core clock of 738 MHz, memory clock of 2,200 MHz DDR (1,100 MHz real), 256-bit memory interface and 512 MB GDDR3 memory. The watercooling solution used is Zotac’s own and it comes already attached to the card and only requires the user to mount the 120 mm fan and radiator module.

HIS Launches Radeon HD 4850 IceQ 4

HIS has just launched a Radeon HD 4850 graphics card (H485QS512P) equipped with the fourth generation of IceQ cooler (HIS claims that this cooler is 20% more efficient than standard AMD/ATI cooling solution). IceQ 4 is sensitive to UV light, so it will grow if you have a UV lamp inside your case. This new HIS graphics card has the same specification of Radeon HD 4850 standard, i.e. core clock of 625 MHz and memory clock of 1,986 MHz (993 MHz DDR), 256-bit memory interface, 512 GDDR3, and DVI and TV-out connectors.

Force3D has announced the launch of Radeon HD 4850/4870 Black Edition graphics cards equipped with Arctic Cooling Accelero Twin Turbo cooler. This cooler has four heat-pipes and two 80-mm fans with variable rotation speed controlled by the video card. Force3D didn’t disclose information about price and availability, neither if theses cards will be factory-overclocked.

nVidia has just launched GeForce 9800 GT and GeForce 9500 GT graphics cards. GeForce 9800 GT runs at 600 MHz and it has 112 shader processors running at 1,500 MHz. As for memory, this graphics card has 512 MB GDDR3 running at 900 MHz (1,800 MHz DDR) through a 256-bit interface. GeForce 9800 GT supports HybridPower, PhysX, CUDA and 2-way SLI technologies, and it features two dual link DVI and one HDTV output. This graphics card comes to replace GeForce 8800 GT.

GeForce 9500 GT runs at 550 MHz and it has 32 shader processors running at 1,440 MHz. As for memory, this graphics card may have 256/512 MB GDDR3 or 512 MB DDR2 running at 800 MHz (1,600 MHz DDR), in the case of GDDR3 memory, or 500 MHz (1,000 MHz DDR), in the case of DDR2 memory, through a 128-bit interface (GDDR3 and DDR2). GeForce 9500 GT supports PhysX, CUDA and 2-way SLI technologies, and it features two (GDDR3) or one (DDR2) dual-link DVI connector. This graphics card comes to replace GeForce 8600 GT.

ECS has just launched GeForce 9800 GTX+ Hydra Pack, a kit containing two GeForce 9800 GTX+ (N9800GTX+-512MX-W: core clock of 738 MHz, memory clock of 2,200 MHz DDR, 256-bit memory interface and 512 MB GDDR3 memory) graphics cards and Thermaltake’s watercooling solution BigWater 760i. Sparkle Launches GeForce 8400 GS PCI Cards

Zotac has launched an overclocked version of a graphics card that already works above its specifications. GeForce 9800 GTX+ (core clock of 738 MHz and memory clock of 2,200 MHz – 1,100 MHz DDR) is an overclocked version of GeForce 9800 GTX (core clock of 675 MHz and memory clock of 2,200 MHz – 1,100 MHz DDR). What Zotac did was release an overclocked GeForce 9800 GTX (which is already an overclocked card). This Zotac card is called GeForce 9800 GTX+ AMP! Edition and has the following specs:

  • Core clock: 750 MHz (1.63% above standard clock of 738 MHz)

That's right, it isn't a typo. Albatron has just launched three new PCI graphics cards, not PCI Express, based on GeForce 8 GPU series. This Albatron’s initiative is especially interesting to users who have a motherboard with video on-board without a PCI Express slot and want to upgrade for a faster video card. The following models were launched: PCI8600GT-256X (GeForce 8600 GT), PCI8500GT-256X (GeForce 8500 GT) and PCI8400GS-256 (GeForce 8400 GS). The first two cards come with GDDR3 memory, 128-bit interface and HDMI output while the PCI8400GS-256 uses GDDR2 memory, a 64-bit interface and has no HDMI. All three cards come with 256 MB memory, DVI and TV-Out connectors.
