AMD has unveiled the AMD Radeon R9 290X, R9 290, R9 280X, R9 270X, R7 260X, and R7 250 video cards, AMD’s first GPUs in a new era of gaming defined by UltraHD displays, renewed vigor in game engine development, and a new generation of gamers that expect a more immersive entertainment experience. AMD also introduced the world to Mantle and AMD TrueAudio technology, the latest innovations that redefine the GPU by enabling both gamers and game developers with unprecedented audio and performance enhancements for compatible games.
The new AMD Radeon R7 and R9 families of graphics chip feature three key pillars: AMD GCN architecture with tweaks that add support for DirectX 11.2 application programming interface; AMD TrueAudio technology, which empowers game developers with a programmable audio pipeline on the GPU. HDMI Forum has announced the release of Version 2.0 of the HDMI Specification. This latest HDMI Specification, the first to be developed by the HDMI Forum, offers a significant increase in bandwidth (up to 18 Gbps) to support new features such as 4K@50/60 (2160p), which is four times the clarity of 1080p/60 video resolution; 32 audio channels; as well as dynamic auto lip-sync and extensions to CEC.
Version 2.0 of the HDMI Specification, which is backward compatible with earlier versions of the Specification, was developed by the HDMI Forum’s Technical Working Group whose members represent some of the world’s leading manufacturers of consumer electronics, personal computers, mobile devices, cables and components. The HDMI Forum currently has a membership of 88 companies.
Version 2.0 of the HDMI Specification does not define new cables or new connectors. Current High Speed cables (category 2 cables) are capable of carrying the increased bandwidth.
The HDMI 2.0 Compliance Test Specification (CTS) is expected to be released before the end of 2013.

Two models of the Radeon HD 7730 video card have been introduced by Sapphire. Both models have 384 Stream Processors and core clock speeds of 800 MHz. The Sapphire HD 7730 1 GB model is loaded with 1 GB of the latest DDR5 memory with an effective memory clock speed of 4500 MHz. The HD 7730 2 GB model has 2 GB of DDR3 memory with an effective clock speed of 1800 MHz. Today, NVIDIA introduced the GeForce GTX 780, a video card equipped with a Kepler GPU featuring 2,304 cores and 3 GB of GDDR5 memory. According to NVIDIA, the GTX 780 is 70% faster than GeForce GTX 580 and over 40% faster than GeForce GTX 680.
The GeForce GTX 780 is clocked at 863 MHz (900 MHz in turbo mode), and accesses its memory at 6 GHz through a 384-bit interface. The card comes with two DL-DVI, one HDMI and one DisplayPort 1.2 video connectors.
