NVIDIA has two GeForce GT 440 video cards: one of them, released back in November, is targeted to the OEM, while the other one, launched this week, is targeted to the retail market, especially for HTPCs (Home Theater PC). Watch out because these two video cards have different specs. Wouldn't it be better if NVIDIA used a different name for the new GeForce GT 440?

The GeForce GT 440 for OEMs works internally at 594 MHz, has 1.5 GB or 3 GB of GDDR3 memory running at 1,600 MHz or 1,800 MHz DDR through a 192-bit interface, 144 processors running at 1,189 MHz, and a TDP of 56 W. This model has VGA, DVI, and HDMI outputs.

The GeForce GT 440 for the retail market works internally at 810 MHz, has 512 MB of GDDR5 memory or 1 GB of DDR3 memory running at 1,800 MHz DDR through a 128-bit interface, 96 processors running at 1,620 MHz, and a TDP of 65 W. This model also has VGA, DVI, and HDMI outputs. Several manufacturers have launched models based on this new video card from NVIDIA, as you can see in the list below.
