ASUS has launched three new LCD monitors. The 19" VW198 has contrast ratio of 3000:1, viewing angle of 170°(H) /160°(V) and response time of 5ms. The 20" VW202T has contrast ratio 2000:1, viewing angle of 160°(H) /160°(V) and response time of 5 ms. The 22" VW222 has contrast ratio of 2000:1, viewing angle of 170°(H) /160°(V) and response time of 2 ms. Samsung releases the 940UX monitor, the first 19-inch flat-panel USB connected LCD monitor, says the company. The monitor supports UbiSync technology that allows multiple screens to connect via USB, rather than VGA, without the need for a graphics card or any special video hardware. The new monitor features features an onboard video card. It also comes with contrast ratio of 1000:1 (DC 2000:1), viewing angle of 160°/160°, response time of 5 ms and maximum resolution of 1280x1024. The 940UX's suggested retail price is USD 379.

Leadtek has announced the WinFast PX8500 GT TDH HDMI (Low Profile), a new entry-level graphics card. The new card comes with low profile form factor, heatpipe design and build-in HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) signal connector. ASUS has launched EN8600GT TOP/HTDP/256M, a PCI Express x16 graphics card equipped with GeForce 8600 GT chip running at 600 MHz (11.11% above the standard clock rate of 540 MHz) and coming with 256 MB GDDR3 running at 2,016 MHz (44% above the standard clock of 1.4 GHz) transferring 128 bits per clock cycle. Its shader engines run at 1,458 MHz, i.e. 22.7% above their standard clock rate of 1,188 MHz. This board supports ASUS SmartDoctor technology, which allows users to overclock the shader clock and engine clock independently, and comes with 1 ns memory chips. ASUS also says that the cooler used on this video card lowers the GPU temperature by 13º C compared to VGAs using the standard nVidia cooler.
