LG Announces W53 SMART LCD Monitors

LG has announced the launch of a new LCD monitor series called W53 SMART. With models ranging from 18.5” to 27”, W53 SMART monitors have contrast ratio of 50.000:1, response time of 2 ms, aspect ratio of 16:9 and features like Auto Brightness, which will automatically adjust brightness settings based on the ambient light in the room and the content displayed. According to the manufacturer W53 SMART monitors will reach the market this month.

ASUS Launches Radeon HD 4890 with Voltage Tweak Technology

Video ASUS has launched two Radeon HD 4890 video cards with Voltage Tweak technology. According to ASUS this technology can increase the video cards performance up to 15% compared to AMD/ATI reference model. See below the models launched and their main specs.

nVidia Announces GeForce GTX 275

In response to the new Radeon HD 4890 from AMD/ATI, nVidia has announced the launch of GeForce GTX 275, which will reach the market on April 14. This card works internally at 633 MHz, accesses its 896 MB GDDR3 at 2,268 DDR (1,134 MHz real) thru a 448-bit interface, has 240 shader processors running at 1,404 MHz, supports DirectX 10 and OpenGL 3.0 programming models and 3-way SLI, PhysX an CUDA technologies. This card also features two 6-pin PCI Express power connectors and takes two expansion slots on the case. GeForce GTX 275 price will range from USD 229 to USD 240. Below you can see a list of manufacturers who already announced video cards based on the newest nVidia GPU.

AMD/ATI has just extended its Radeon HD 4800 video card series with the launch of Radeon HD 4890. According to AMD/ATI this is the world’s most powerful graphics card. Radeon HD 4890 works internally at 850 MHz, accesses its 1 GB GDDR5 at 3,900 MHz DDR (975 MHz real) thru a 256-bit interface, has 800 shader processors, supports Shader 4.1 (DirectX 10.1) and OpenGL 3.0 programming models and CrossFireX, ATI Stream and Unified Video Decoder v2.0 technologies. This video card also features two 6-pin PCI Express power connectors and takes two expansion slots on the case. Radeon HD 4890 is priced at USD 249. Sparkle Announces GeForce GTS 250 Calibre Cards

Sparkle has extended its Calibre line-up with the launch of two GeForce GTS 250 video cards: X250 (512 MB GDDR3) and X250G (1 GB GDDR3). By using the SPA Tune utility these cards can be configured to work in three modes: green mode (internal clock of 300 MHz, shader clock of 900 MHz and memory clock of 800 MHz DDR), standard mode (internal clock of 738 MHz, shader clock of 1,836 MHz and memory clock of 2,200 MHz DDR) or overclocking mode (internal clock of 761 MHz, shader clock of 1,911 MHz and memory clock of 2,322 MHz DDR). Both cards feature Calibre Fly cooler, which has two copper heat-pipes and two 80-mm fans with fan speed of 3,000 rpm, and VGA, DVI and HDMI connectors. No word on pricing and availability.

BFG Rolls Out GeForce GTX 285 H2O

BFG has announced the launch of GeForce GTX 285 H20 (BFGEGTX2851024H2OWE), a factory-overclocked video card equipped with a copper waterblock (part used on liquid cooling systems) co-developed with Danger Den and that according to the manufacturer reduces the GPU temperature up to 42° C compared to standard cooling systems. This video card works internally at 666 MHz (2.78% above default clock of 648 MHz), accesses its 1 GB GDDR3 at 2,484 MHz DDR (3.5% above default clock of 2.400 MHz DDR) thru a 512-bit interface, and its shader processors run at 1,512 MHz (2.44% above default clock of 1,476 MHz). BFG GeForce GTX 285 H20 is a single-slot card, supports 3-way SLI, CUDA and PhysX technologies, features two DVI and one S-Video connectors, and is priced at USD 500.

Gigabyte Releases Ultra Durable VGA Technology

Gigabyte has brought to its video card the Ultra Durable technology, a technology that has been used for a long time on its motherboards. The goal from his technology is to increase quality and durability (and of course, overclocking capability) from Gigabyte products by including special components like Japonese aluminum solid caps, low RDS(on) MOSFET transistors, ferrite chokes, printed circuit board using a 2
oz (57 g) copper layer and Samsung or Hynix memory chips, in the case of Ultra Durable VGA technology. The first Gigabyte video card using Ultra Durable VGA technology is GeForce GTS 250 (GV-N250ZL-1GI), pictured below.

Zotac and Sparkle have launched GeForce 9600 GT “Green” models, an eco-friendly video card that is 40% more power efficient than the regular model. GeForce 9600 GT “Green” works internally with a lower clock (600 MHz vs. 650 MHz on the original model; because of this GeForce 9600 GT “Green” consumes less and lacks the 6-pin PCI Express power connector) and accesses its 512 MB GDDR3 at 1,800 MHz DDR (900 MHz real) thru a 256-bit interface.
