Gigabyte Launches GeForce 9800 GT With Passive Cooling

Gigabyte has just launched GV-N98TSL-1GI, a video card based on nVidia GeForce 9800 GT GPU. This card uses GeForce 9800 GT reference clocks (internal clock of 600 MHz, memory clock of 1,800 MHz DDR), has 1 GB GDDR3, features a passive cooling solution called Silent-Cell (copper base and three heatpipes) and supports Ultra Durable VGA technology, which increases the quality and durability (and of course, overclocking capability) from Gigabyte video cards by including special components like Japonese aluminum solid caps, low RDS(on) MOSFET transistors, ferrite chokes, printed circuit board using a 2 oz (57 g) copper layer and Samsung or Hynix memory chips. No word on pricing.

MSI has launched N285GTX HydroGen, a factory-overclocked video card based on nVidia GeForce GTX 285 GPU that comes with an all-copper waterblock (part used on watercooling systems). This card works internally at 702 MHz (8.33% above default clock of 648 MHz), accesses its 1 GB GDDR3 at 2,600 MHz DDR (8.33% above default clock of 2,400 MHz DDR) thru a 512-bit interface and supports 3-way SLI, CUDA and PhysX technologies. N285GTX HydroGen has two DVI and one S-Video connectors. No word on pricing and availability.

Video AMD/ATI launched today Radeon HD 4770, its first GPU built on 40 nm process. Radeon HD 4770 works internally at 750 MHz, accesses its 512 MB GDDR5 at 3,200 MHz DDR (800 MHz real) thru a 128-bit interface, has 640 shader units, supports Shader 4.1 programming model (DirectX 10.1) and CrossFireX and Unified Video Decoder v2.0 technologies. This card also comes with two DVI connectors and takes two slots on the computer case. Radeon HD 4770 is priced at USD 100.

MSI Launches N260GTX Lightning Video Cards

MSI has launched two factory-overclocked video cards based on nVidia GeForce GTX 260 GPU. N260GTX Lightning and N260GTX Lightning Black Edition work internally at 680 MHz (18.06% above default clock of 576 MHz), have 1,792 MB GDDR3 (reference model has only 896 MB) being accessed at 2,100 MHz DDR (5.11% above default clock of 1,998 MHz DDR), solid caps, voltage regulator circuit with 10 phases (8 phases are reserved for the GPU and 2 phases for the memory) and a Twin Frozr cooling system (two fans/five heatpipes). N260GTX Lightning Black Edition also comes with a 5 ¼” external touch panel that can change the card's voltages and clock speeds on the fly. No word on pricing and availability.

PowerColor has announced the launch of Radeon HD 4890 LCS, a factory-overclocked video card based on the newest AMD/ATI Radeon HD 4890 GPU featuring a copper waterblock developed by EK WaterBlocks.
