NVIDIA has released the new GeForce 310.54 Beta driver that increases performance for GeForce 400/500/600 video cards in several PC games compared to the GeForce 306.97 driver. Results will vary depending on your video card and system configuration. Some examples include:

GeForce GTX 680:

  • Up to 11% in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
  • Up to 6% in StarCraft II
  • Up to 6% in Batman: Arkham City

GeForce GTX 660:

  • Up to 6% in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
  • Up to 3% in Batman: Arkham City
  • Up to 4% in Dragon Age II

Today, NVIDIA unveiled the Tesla K20 family of GPUs, which features the Tesla K20X and the Tesla K20 GPUs. The Tesla K20X powers the Titan, the world’s fastest supercomputer according to the TOP500 list. Armed with 18,688 NVIDIA Tesla K20X GPUs, the Titan supercomputer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, seized the No. 1 supercomputer ranking in the world from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s Sequoia system with a performance record of 17.59 petaflops as measured by the LINPACK benchmark.

Today, AMD introduced the FirePro S10000 server video card, a product designed for high-performance computing (HPC) workloads and graphics intensive applications.

The AMD FirePro S10000 is the first professional-grade card to exceed one teraFLOPS (TFLOPS) of double-precision floating-point performance, helping to ensure optimal efficiency for HPC calculations. It is also the first ultra-high-end card that brings an unprecedented 5.91 TFLOPS of peak single-precision and 1.48 TFLOPS of double-precision floating-point calculations. This performance ensures the fastest possible data processing speeds for professionals working with large amounts of information. In addition to HPC, the FirePro S10000 is also ideal for virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and workstation graphics deployments.

The FirePro S10000 features two Tahiti GPUs working at 825 MHz, comes with 6 GB of GDDR5 memory accessed through a 384-bit interface, four mini DisplayPort connectors, one DVI connector, and a cooler equipped with three fans.

Club 3D is expanding its Radeon HD 7000 lineup with the launch of the Radeon HD 7990, a powerful video card equipped with two Radeon HD 7970 GPUs running at 900 MHz with default settings, reaching 925 MHz in overclocking mode. The board has 6 GB of GDDR5 memory operating at 5.5 GHz (3 GB of memory with a 384-bit memory bus per chip), a proprietary cooling system (one 80 mm fan, two 92 mm fans, and 10 heatpipes), DL DVI-I, SL DVI-D, HDMI, and two mini DisplayPort connectors.

This video card requires an 850 W power supply and three 8-pin PCI Express power connectors.

Information on pricing was not provided. However, if a Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition costs USD 499, a dual-chip solution won’t cost less than USD 999.

NVIDIA Announces the GeForce GTX 650 Ti

Today, NVIDIA announced its newest addition to its GeForce Kepler GPU family, the GeForce GTX 650 Ti.

The new GeForce GTX 650 Ti uses the PCI Express 3.0 interface, has 768 processors, works internally at 925 MHz, and accesses the memory at 5.4 GHz through a 128-bit interface, resulting in a maximum transfer rate of 86.4 GB/s. The referenced model comes with 1 GB GDDR5 (though partners could release versions with 2 GB), one DVI-I, one DVI-D and one mini-HDMI video outputs.

Several video card manufacturers have launched models based on the newest NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 650 Ti GPU, as you can see below.

The Zotac GeForce GTX 660 Ti AMP! Extreme Edition (ZT-60806-10P) an overclocked version of the GeForce GTX 660 Ti AMP! from the same manufacturer, with an internal clock six percent higher. Compared to the standard version, the GeForce GTX 660 Ti AMP! Extreme Edition is 13% faster.

This new video card from Zotac is based on the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti GPU clocked at 1,098 MHz (base) and 1,176 MHz (boost). It has 2 GB of GDDR5 memory running at 6,608 MHz through a 192-bit interface, a cooling solution with two fans, and two DVI, one HDMI and one VGA video outputs.

Today, NVIDIA has expanded its Kepler product lineup with the launch of two models, the GeForce GTX 660 and the GTX 650. The GTX 660 works internally at 980 MHz (1,033 MHz in boost mode), has 2 GB of GDDR5 memory accessed at 6 GHz through a 192-bit interface, a TDP of 140 W, two DL-DVI connectors, one HDMI connector, one DisplayPort 1.2 connector and support for two-way SLI. This card is priced at USD 229 and competes with AMD’s Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition. The GeForce GTX 650 works internally at 1,058 MHz, has 1 GB of GDDR5 memory accessed at 5 GHz through a 128-bit interface, a TDP of 64 W, two DL-DVI connectors and one HDMI connector. This card is priced at USD 109 and competes with AMD’s Radeon HD 7750 GHz.

Both cards are PCI Express 3.0.
