Club 3D Rolls Out 8600GT Overclocked

Club 3D introduces an overclocked version of the GeForce 8 series. The Club 3D 8600GT Overclocked is based on NVIDIA G84 chipset and provides 1600 MHz, 512MB GDDR3 memory and a GPU Speed of 620 MHz. Delivering the highest clocks of 8600GT series this is the first card to market with such high clock speeds combined with 512MB graphic memory, says the company. It uses a special heavy duty low noise cooler to guarantee low temperatures.

ASUS Intros New Cards With Radeon HD2600 and HD2400

ASUS has released new graphic cards with AMD/ATI HD2600XT, HD2600PRO, HD2400XT and HD2400PRO, designed to support DirectX 10 applications and multimedia playback. ASUS EAH2600XT and EAH2600PRO/HTDP/256M uses a new generation of cooling fans to effectively dissipate heat build-up. Heatsinks can lower temperatures for the EAH2600PRO/HTDP/256M by 20°C and the EAH2600XT by 10°C. Check the specifications:

AMD unleashes ATI Radeon HD 2600 and ATI Radeon HD 2400, both from HD 2000 series. All GPUs from Radeon HD 2000 series features DirectX 10 support and HD media playback.

Radeon HD 2600 comes with 128-bit DDR2/GDDR3/GDDR4 memory interface, Shader Model 4.0, Hardware processed 1080p video playback of Blu-ray and HD DVDs and HDMI with 5.1 surround sound audio.

Dell Releases 24" and 19" Monitors

Dell has released two new monitors: a 24-inch 2407WFP-HC LCD and a 19-inch SE198WFP.

The 2407WFP-HC boasts Dell's new technology TrueColor, which guarantees greater color gamut than traditional LCD panels. It features 1920 x 1200 resolution, 6ms response time, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, VGA and DVI ports (with HDCP support). Suggested price: USD 679.

The SE198WFP features 1440 x 900 resolution, 5 ms response time, and 1,000:1 contrast ratio. Suggested price: USD 189.

NVidia has introduced a new chip for mobile graphic cards. The GeForce 8700M GT is part of GeForce 8M family (M stands for Mobile). It offers the fastest DirectX 10 gaming experience and works with Windows Vista, while handling both HD DVD and Blu-ray video playback. In addition, NVIDIA's PowerMizer technology has a careful balance between the user's need for longer battery life and performance.

Companies like Toshiba, Sager, Prostar, Eurocom, Biohazard, Connoiseur, Cybersystem, Hypersonic, Voodoo PC, and others will launch notebooks with new graphics cards.

Samsung Unveils 70-inch LCD TV

Samsung has developed the first 70-inch LCD panel for use in the consumer TV market. Currently, the largest LCD TV screen size is made by Sharp and has 65 inches in diameter.

Samsung's latest LCD panel boasts full high-definition resolution (1080p) and a conical viewing angle of 180 degrees for multi-viewing audiences.

Samsung will begin producing the new 70-inch LCD during the first half of 2007.

AMD is now shiping ATI Radeon HD 2400 and 2600 in volume to its board customers. They are a top-to-bottom line of 10 discrete graphics processors (GPUs) for both desktop and mobile platforms. They feature DirectX 10 and HD media playback.

The series boasts many firsts for the graphics industry, including a powerful second-generation Unified Shader Architecture (USA), a 512-bit memory bus designed for full performance high dynamic range (HDR) rendering, and new Unified Video Decoder (UVD) technology for high-fidelity HD media playback, which offloads video decoding from the CPU to the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) to lower system power consumption.
