Sapphire has announced its Radeon HD 5870 and HD 5750 video cards featuring the their Vapor-X cooler (vapor chamber technology). Both cards are factory-overclocked (just a little bit, by the way), has two DVI connectors, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs and come with the DirectX-11 based game Dirt 2. Radeon HD 5870 Vapor-X works internally at 870 MHz (2.35% above default clock of 850 MHz) and has 1 GB GDDR5 accessed at 5 GHz QDR (4.17% above default clock of 4.8 GHz QDR). Radeon HD 5750 Vapor-X works internally at 710 MHz (1.43% above default clock of 700 MHz) and has 1 GB GDDR5 accessed at 4.640 GHz QDR (0.87% above default clock of 4.6 GHz QDR). No word on pricing.

EVGA Launches GeForce GTX 275 CO-OP PhysX Edition

EVGA has launched a video card equipped with two different GPUs, each one in charge of a different task. The new GeForce GTX 275 CO-OP PhysX Edition (012-P3-1178-AR) features a GeForce GTX 275 GPU for graphics processing and one GeForce GTS 250 GPU to execute physics calculations. This video card has 896 MB GDDR3 for the GTX 275 chip and 512 MB GDDR3 for the GTS 250 chip. It is a dual-slot solution, has two DVI connectors and comes with Batman: Arkham Asylum, an action game that has PhysX support. EVGA GeForce GTX 275 CO-OP PhysX Edition is priced at USD 349.99.

PowerColor Unveils Radeon HD 5870 LCS

PowerColor has launched Radeon HD 5870 LCS, a factory-overclocked video card based on AMD/ATI Radeon HD 5870 GPU equipped with a waterblock (piece used on watercooling systems) from EK. This card works internally at 875 MHz (2.94% above default clock of 850 MHz), accesses its 1 GB GDDR5 at 5 GHz QDR (4.17% above default clock of 4.8 GHz QDR) thru a 256-bit interface, has two DVI connectors, an HDMI connector and two DisplayPort outputs, and comes with the game DiRT2. PowerColor Radeon HD 5870 LCS will reach the market next month, not priced yet.

Albatron Announces Optical Touch Monitor

Albatron announced today a 42” monitor featuring an optical touch technology to track finger movements. According to the company, the optical approach is more sensitive, durable and accurate than traditional resistive technology. This monitor has a native resolution of 1920x1080, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a 9 ms response time, a 120 Hz refresh rate, a maximum brightness of 700 cd/m2 and VGA, DVI, HDMI, RS232C and USB connectors. No word on pricing and availability.

AMD/ATI has just launched its Radeon HD 5700 series of video cards (DirectX 11). Two models were launched: Radeon HD 5770 and HD 5750. Radeon HD 5770 works internally at 850 MHz, has 1 GB GDDR5 accessed at 4.8 GHz (1,200 MHz real) thru a 128-bit interface, 800 stream processors and a recommended price tag of USD 159. Radeon HD 5750 works internally at 705 MHz, has 512 MB or 1 GB GDDR5 accessed at 4.6 GHz (1,150 MHz real) thru a 128-bit interface, 720 stream processors and a recommended price tag of USD 129 (1 GB model) or USD 109 (512 MB model).

nVidia Launches GeForce GT 220 and 210

nVidia launched today its first 40-nm desktop GPUs, GeForce GT 220 and GeForce 210. GeForce GT 220 works internally at 625 MHz, accesses its 1 GB DDR3 at 790 MHz thru a 128-bit interface, has 48 shader processors working at 1,360 MHz and supports DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL 3.1 programming models. GeForce 210 works internally at 589 MHz, accesses its 512 MB DDR2 at 500 MHz thru a 64-bit interface, has 16 shader processors working at 1,402 MHz and supports DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL 3.1 programming models. MSI has introduced Afterburner, a graphics card overclocking utility. With it MSI graphics card users based on nVidia and AMD/ATI chips can adjust GPU, shader and memory clocks, the fan speed, and even voltage (in case of MSI Lightning series). Afterburner is available for free download.

AMD/ATI has unveiled its first video cards compatible with DirectX 11 API, Radeon HD 5800 series. Two models were launched: Radeon HD 5870 and HD 5850. MSI Announces N275GTX Lightning Video Card

MSI has expanded its Lightning line-up with the launch of N275GTX (GeForce 275 GTX), a factory-overclocked video card. This new card works internally at 700 MHz (10.58% above default clock of 633 MHz), accesses its 1,792 MB of GDDR3 at 2,300 MHz (1.41% above default clock of 2,268 MHz) thru a 448-bit interface and has VGA, DVI and HDMI connectors. Also, N275GTX Lightning features a 10-phase voltage regulator, a 10-layer PCB, a Twin Frozr II cooler (two 80-mm fans and five heatpipes), a power management technology with active phase switching and comes with Lightning Afterburner overclocking utility that allows users to tune GPU voltage, GPU and memory clock. Information on pricing and availability weren't provided.

nVidia SLI Technology is Now Licensed For Intel Motherboards

Video nVidia has announced that Intel and the main motherboard manufacturers (ASUS, EVGA, Gigabyte and MSI) have licensed nVidia SLI technology for inclusion on their Intel P55 Express Chipset-based motherboards designed for the upcoming Intel Core i7 and i5 processors in the LGA1156 socket. So users of P55-based motherboard and upcoming Core processors can equip their PCs with more than one nVidia-based video card under SLI configuration. It is always good to remember that Intel chipsets are already compatible with the competing technology, CrossFireX from AMD.

EVGA Unveils Dual-display Monitor

EVGA has just launched InterView 1700, a monitor equipped with two 17” LCD displays. The two displays are suspended on a central stand that allows them to be individually turned 180º on the vertical and 90º on the horizontal. Each display has native resolution of 1440 x 900, 8 ms response time and a 500:1 static contrast ratio. InterView 1700 weights 16.53 lbs (7.5 kg), has a built-in 1.3 Mpixel webcam located on the central stand, three USB ports and a dual-link DVI. EVGA is selling this monitor for USD 650.
