Intel has increased its notebook products with the launch of five 45-nm processors. See them below:

  • Core 2 Quad Q9000: Internal clock of 2 GHz, external clock of 1,066 MHz, 6 MB L2 cache, TDP of 45 W and priced at USD 348 (1000-unit tray).
  • Core 2 Duo T9800: Internal clock of 2,93 GHz, external clock of 1,066 MHz, 6 MB L2 cache, TDP of 35 W and priced at USD 530 (1000-unit tray).
  • Core 2 Duo T9550: Internal clock of 2,66 GHz, external clock of 1,066 MHz, 6 MB L2 cache, TDP of 35 W and priced at USD 348 (1000-unit tray).
  • Core 2 Duo P9600: Internal clock of 2,66 GHz, external clock of 1,066 MHz, 6 MB L2 cache, TDP of 25 W and priced at USD 316 (1000-unit tray).
  • Core 2 Duo P8700: Internal clock of 2,53 GHz, external clock of 1,066 MHz, 6 MB L2 cache, TDP of 25 W and priced at USD 241 (1000-unit tray).

Intel Intros Dual-Core Celeron Mobiles CPUs

CPU Intel has just launched its first dual-core Celeron processors targeted to the laptop market. Two models were launched: T1700 (internal clock of 1.83 GHz; USD 86 in 1000-unit tray quantities) and T1600 (internal clock of 1.66 GHz; USD 80 in 1000-unit tray quantities). These new processors are based on Core microarchitecture, have a shared 1 MB L2 cache, FSB of 667 MHz, 65-nm fabrication process and TDP of 35 W.

New Desktop Processors From Intel

Intel has just increased its desktop processors line with the launch of three processors. See them below:

  • Core 2 Quad Q8300: Internal clock of 2.5 GHz, external clock of 1,333 MHz, 4 MB L2 cache, 45-nm process and priced at US$ 224 (1000-unit tray).
  • Pentium Dual Core E5300: Internal clock of 2.6 GHz, external clock of 800 MHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 45-nm process and priced at US$ 86 (1000-unit tray).
  • Celeron Dual Core E1500: Internal clock of 2.2 GHz, external clock of 800 MHz, 512 KB L2 cache, 65-nm process and priced at US$ 53 (1000-unit tray).

Intel Launches Core i7 Processors

Intel has officially launched its first processors based on Nehalem microarchitecture, Core i7. Based on the new socket 1366, these 45-nm processors has four cores, integrated DD3 memory controller, 8 MB of L3 cache, HyperThreading technology, QuickPath Interconnect bus and are paired with Intel X58 chipset. Three models were launched, as you can see below.

AMD Launches 45-nm Opteron Processors

AMD has officially announced the launch of its first 45-nm Opteron processors (codename Shanghai). These quad-core processors are based on socket F (1207), have four cores, built-in DDR2-800 memory controller, 6 MB L3 cache, 75 W TDP and feature CoolCore technology, which reduces power to unused sections of each processor in order to cut power consumption. According to AMD these new Opteron processors are 35% faster and consume 35% less than 65-nm counterparts.

Intel Starts Shipping Dual-Core Atom Processor

CPU Intel has started shipping the first dual-core Atom processors, which are targeted to laptops or handheld devices with internet access – dubbed MIDs, Mobile Internet Devices. Atom 330 is built on 45 nm manufacturing process, works internally at 1,6 GHz, works externally at 533 MHz, has 1 MB L2 cache and TDP of 8 W. Its MSRP is of USD 40 (in 1000-unit tray quantities).
