The GT780DX is the newest gaming notebook from MSI featuring a second generation Core i7 processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture, a DirectX 11 NVIDIA discrete video card, a top-notch Dynaudio sound and a keyboard made in collaboration with SteelSeries.

Spec-wise, the MSI GT780DX has a 17.3” Full HD (1920x1080), a quad-core Core i7 processor, up to 32 GB of DDR3 memory, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570M discrete video card (3 GB of GDDR5), a 720 GB/500 GB hard drive plus an Intel 120 GB SSD or two 720 GB/500 GB hard drives, a DVD or Blu-ray drive, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth v3.0 + HS, a Gigabit Ethernet port, an HD webcam, a 5-in-1 card reader, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, one eSATA port, and a 9-cell battery.

Unfortunately, MSI didn't mention the notebook's price.

Panasonic Announces Toughpad A1 and B1 Tablets

Panasonic has introduced the Toughpad family of professional-grade tablets, which includes the 10.1-inch Toughpad A1 and the 7-inch Toughpad B1 models. Both devices were designed to withstand extreme conditions and will be launched next year. They run on the Android operating system. 

The Toughpad A1 features a 1.2 GHz dual-core Marvell processor, 16 GB of storage space, 1 GB of LP-DDR2 memory, a 10.1-inch XGA touchscreen display (1024x768), a microSD card slot, a micro USB port, a micro HDMI port, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front camera, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, 4G (LTE or WiMAX), and a battery that provides up to 10 hours of operation. The Toughpad A1 will start at USD 1,299.

Panasonic didn’t disclose much information about the Toughpad B1 model.

Razer Launches Blade Gaming Laptop

Razer has launched a powerful gaming laptop that will definitely please gamers and enthusiasts. The Blade features an aluminum case; measures 0.88 inches thin (22.35 mm), which is less than half that of current gaming laptops; and weighs 6.97 lbs (3 kg). It comes with an LED backlit 17.3” (1920x1080) display, a Core i7 2640M (2.8 GHz) processor, 8 GB of DDR3-1333 memory, an NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M discrete video card (2 GB of dedicated GDDR5 memory), a 320 GB (7,200 rpm) hard drive, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, a Gigabit Ethernet port, an HD webcam, one USB 3.0 port, an HDMI output and an integrated 60Wh battery.

Adjacent to the keyboard there is an area called Switchblade User Interface, which is comprised of 10 dynamic adaptive tactile keys for easier access of game commands, and an LCD screen that can show game information.

Razer’s laptop will become available in Q4 2011 for USD 2,800.

MSI’s X460 and X460DX Laptops Now Available

MSI has announced the availability of the X460 and X460DX laptops, which were previously launched in early July. Both units are part of MSI’s X-Slim Series and come with a 14-inch display (1366 x 768) and an Intel processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture.

The X460 is equipped with a Core i7-2630QM (2 GHz) CPU; Intel HD 3000 integrated video; a 750 GB hard drive; support for WiDi (Wireless Display) 2.0, a technology that enables users to connect their laptops to any TV set using standard Wi-Fi; and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit operating system pre-installed.

The X460DX is equipped with a Core i3-2310M (2.1 GHz) or a Core i5-2410M (2.3 GHz) CPU, a GeForce GT 540M 1GB video card, a 500 GB hard drive, and Windows 7 Premium 64-bit operating system pre-installed.

They share the same set of features such as up to 6 GB of DDR3 memory, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, a DVD writer, two USB 3.0 ports, a six-cell battery providing up to eight hours of autonomy, and VGA and HDMI video outputs.

Both models are currently available with prices starting at USD 799.99.

We’ve seen this product at Computex 2011 as a prototype, but today ASUS makes its official debut. The Eee Pad Slider is a tablet that features a “hidden” physical keyboard underneath it, which can be slid out to be used for typing. This model is based on NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 processor, has a 1280x800 touchscreen display, a 1.2 Mpixels camera on the front-facing, a 5 Mpixels camera on the back-facing, and USB, mini HDMI, and MicroSD ports. It runs the Google’s Android 3.1 operating system.

Panasonic Announces Toughbook CF-H2 Tablet

Panasonic has announced the newest member of their Toughbook Tablet PC product family, the Toughbook CF-H2. This tablet is a heavy-duty product, ideal for users who work in extreme environments. It is resistant to drops, vibrations, cold, dust, heat, salt fog, moisture, gunfire, and humidity. It can easily survive falls of up to 6 feet (1.82 m), besides being water- and dustproof. Speaking of specs, the new Toughbook CF-H2 features a magnesium alloy chassis encased with polycarbonate, a 10.1-inch XGA touchscreen display (1024x768), a 1.7 GHz Core i5-2557M CPU, 4 GB of RAM (8 GB max), a 320 GB HDD (7,200 rpm) or an optional 128 GB SSD drive, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, two batteries that together provide up to 6.5 hours of operation, optional items such as GPS, barcode and RFID readers, and a 2-megapixel camera. The tablet runs on Windows 7 operating system.

The Toughbook CF-H2 will be available soon, starting at USD 3,449.

Toshiba Announces Qosmio F750 3D Laptop

Today, Toshiba announced the Qosmio F750, a 3D laptop that produces 3D images without the need for 3D glasses.  To create a 3D effect without 3D glasses, the left eye needs to see a slightly different perspective from the right eye. And that’s exactly how Toshiba’s Qosmio F750 works, producing simultaneously two images of slightly differing perspectives individually to the left and right eye, which creates the 3D effect.

This laptop features a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display, an Intel Core i7 processor (2 GHz / 2.90 GHz Turbo mode), a GeForce GT 540M video card with up to 2 GB of dedicated memory, 6 GB of DDR3-1333 memory, a 640 GB hard drive (5400 rpm), a Blu-ray writer, Harman Kardon stereo speakers, an HD webcam with eye tracking technology, 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, one USB 3.0 port, three USB 2.0 ports, and comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit installed.

The Qosmio F750 3D will be available next month, but its price was not revealed.

Panasonic announced its plans to launch an enterprise-grade, Toughbook-branded tablet to the market. This tablet is a heavy-duty product, ideal for users who work in extreme environments. It features a 10.1-inch (1024 x 768) high brightness, touchscreen display, a built-in GPS, and optional 3G/4G connectivity. The Panasonic Toughbook Tablet runs the Android operating system.

Panasonic didn’t say when or for how much the device will cost.

Computex 2011: ASUS Showcases the Eee Pad Tablets

ASUS is another company trying to join iPad’s bandwagon, with its Eee Pad. During this Computex, they displayed two models that actually bring something new to the table, the Eee Pad Transformer (TF101) and the Eee Pad Slider (SL101).

The Eee Pad Transformer can be transformed into a netbook computer by the addition of an optional detachable keyboard. It runs Google’s Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) operating system supporting Adobe Flash 10.3 and has a 178-degree viewing angle display.

The Eee Pad Slider, on the other hand, has a “hidden” physical keyboard underneath it, which can be slid out to be used for typing. This model is based on NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 processor, has a 1280x800 display, and USB, mini HDMI, and MicroSD ports.

ASUS has officially launched the Eee Pad Transformer, a quite interesting tablet PC that can be turned into a netbook by hooking it up to an optional keyboard docking station. The portable features a 10.1” touchscreen display, comes with an NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU (1 GHz), 1 GB of memory, 32 or 64 GB of flash storage, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-fi, Bluetooth 2.1 EDR, 3G (optional), two cameras (1.2 Mpixels on the front and 5 Mpixels on the back), GPS, two USB 2.0 ports, a micro SD card reader, and a mini HDMI 1.3a output. The device runs on an Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system (specific to tablets).

The docking station extends the Transformer’s 9.5 hours of battery life for up to 16 hours.

Zotac Launches Mini-PCs With AMD APU

Zotac has launched the ZBOX AD02 series of mini-PCs equipped with the AMD E-350 APU (Accelerated Processing Unit). Two models were launched: ZBOX AD02 and ZBOX AD02 Plus. Both feature a dual-core AMD E-350 APU (1.6 GHz), a Radeon HD6310 integrated graphics engine, two USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, one eSATA port, a 6-in-1 card reader (SD/SDHC/MMC/MS/MS Pro/xD), one Gigabit Ethernet port, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, 8-channel audio, and VGA, DVI and HDMI outputs.

The difference between ZBOX AD02 and ZBOX AD02 Plus is that the latter comes with 2 GB of DDR3 memory and a 250 GB 2.5” hard drive.

MSI Announces Wind U160MX Netbook

MSI has expanded their Wind line-up with the launch of the Wind U160MX netbook, a product called the “dream machine” by the manufacturer.

The Wind U160MX uses an Intel Atom N455 processor (1.66 GHz), has a 10” LED screen (1024x600), DDR3-667 memory (2 GB max), SATA hard drive (250 GB or 320 GB), integrated video (Intel GMA 3150), a 2-in-1 card reader (SD/MMC), Fast Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, a 0.3 Mpixel webcam, and 3-cell battery.

The “dream machine” also features TDE (Turbo Drive Engine) technology, which increase the CPU clock to boost the performance, and a power-saving function that extends the battery life up to 8.5 hours without charging.
