Apple introduces its new iPhone, with 3G wireless technology. The new model has built-in GPS and costs half the price of the current model: the 8 GB, available in black, costs USD 199 and the 16 GB, available in black and white, USD 299. It has a 2 megapixels camera and supports Microsoft Exchange. The new iPhone will be available starting July 11 in 22 countries, including U.S., U.K., Canada and Japan. By the end of the year, Apple expects to launch it around 70 countries.

AMD announced its next-generation notebook platform, called 'Puma'. The platform features AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processors with ATI Radeon HD 3000 Series Graphics and incorporates the latest wireless connectivity like 802.11n and 3G. Acer, Asus, Clevo, Fujitsu, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, HP, MSI, NEC and Toshiba will launch notebooks based on this platform.
As a part of the new platform, AMD also announced a new notebook processor and chipset: the AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile processor includes AMD Independent Dynamic Core Technology, a new mobile-optimized memory controller, and power-optimized HyperTransport 3.0. The new mobile AMD 7-series chipset, AMD M780G and AMD SB700, comes with integrated ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics and delivers support for Microsoft DirectX 10.

NVidia has announced new processors Tegra 600 and Tegra 650 aimed at mobile Internet devices (MIDs). Smaller than a US dime, Tegra is a heterogeneous processor architecture with multiple processors, each architected for a specific class of tasks – an 800 MHz ARM CPU, a HD video processor, an imaging processor, an audio processor, and an ultra-low power GeForce GPU. These processors are used together or independently. They offer support for 1080p HDMI, WSXGA+ LCD and CRT, and NTSC/PAL TV-Out. VIA introduced the VIA OpenBook mini-note reference design, equipped with next generation of VIA Ultra Mobile Platform, based on the VIA C7-M ULV processor and the new all-in-one VIA VX800 digital media IGP chipset. The new ultra-portable notebook features a 8.9" screen in a clamshell form factor that weighs just 1kg.
It supports WiFi, Bluetooth, optional AGPS connections, WiMAX, HSDPA and EV-DO/W-CDMA modules. It also comes with three USB 2.0 ports, a VGA port, and audio-in/audio-out jacks as well as a 4-in-1 card reader (SD/SDIO/MMC/MS) and a 2 mega-pixel dual-headed web camera. HP introduced the new notebook HP 2533t Mobile Thin Client. According to HP, the notebook was designed with an array of hardware and software that provide the mobility of a notebook and the enhanced security, improved ease of use and reliability delivered by thin clients.
The HP 2533t provides enhanced access to virtual computing solutions, such as blade PCs or a virtual desktop infrastructure, and increased protection of corporate data and software applications by storing files on a secure, centralized server. No data resides on the actual mobile thin client, so companies are assured that data is not compromised in the event the client is lost or stolen.
It weighs three pounds and features a 12.1-inch diagonal widescreen LED display. It has Integrated Wi-Fi certified WLAN along with support for 3G broadband wireless via PC memory card slot.
