Thermaltake Intros New HTPCs Case Series

Thermaltake has extended its HTPCs (Home Theater PCs) product offers with the launch of DH202 case series. Three models were launched: VJ80001N2Z, VJ80011N2Z and VJ80051N2Z. All of them measure 6.6” x 16.8” x 18.1” or 16,8 cm x 42,65 cm x 44 cm (H x W x D), have an aluminum front panel, one 5 ¼” bay, three 3 ½” internal bays and one 120-mm frontal fan working at 1,400 rpm (there’s a place for two 60-mm fans on the rear panel). VJ80051N2Z also features a 7” touchscreen LCD display for multimedia functions. No word on pricing.

Cooler Master Launches Scout Case

Cooler Master has just increased its CM Storm product line (targeted to gamers) with the launch of Scout case. This case has five 3 ½” internal bays, four 5 ¼” external bays, provides support for 1.8” or 2.5” SSDs and features dark automotive painting. As for cooling, Scout has a 140-mm frontal intake fan, a 140-mm top and a 120-mm rear exhaust fans, and provides a location for another two 120-mm optional fans. On its top panel you can find four USB ports, one eSATA port, one FireWire port and audio connectors. This case also has several features like cable management, screwless mechanisms for hard drive installation, anti-thef device, acrylic-side panel and integrated LED-switch, letting you decide exactly when to show off the red lights. No word on pricing and availability.

Lian Li Launches PC-V351 HTPC Case

Lian Li has just launched PC-V351, an aluminum HTPC case (Home Theater PC; designed to be used in computers connected to home theater systems in order to play movies and music) equipped with two 5 ¼” external bays, one 3 ½” internal bay (using one 5 ¼” bay), two 3 ½” internal bays, four slot for expansion cards, one 120-mm frontal fan (1,000 rpm), one 80-mm rear fan (1,200 rpm), two USB 2.0 ports, one Firewire port and audio connectors. PC-V351 measures 1.09" x 1.03" x 1.4" or 2.79 cm x 2.62 cm x 3.73 cm (W x H x D), weights 8 lbs (3.63 Kg), is available in black, silver or red color and costs USD 120.

Thermaltake Launches Vi-ON HDD Enclosures

Thermaltake has jus launched Vi-ON, a HDD enclosures series. Hard disk drive enclosures are cases for you to install a hard disk drive outside the computer, being a terrific way to carry a huge amount of data around, for backing up data, for storing and carrying files from home to the office and vice-versa, for storing and carrying videos, etc. On the table below you can see the main specs for the models launched.

Lian Li Launches Mini-ITX Case

Lian Li has launched PC-Q07, an aluminum compact case targeted to be used by Mini-ITX motherboards. PC-Q07 measures 7.59” x 11” x 8.18” or 19.3 cm x 28 cm x 20.8 cm (W x H x D), weights 2.42 lbs (1.1 Kg), has one external 5 ¼” bay, one 3 ½” internal bay, one 2 ½” internal bay, one slot for expansion card, top and bottom vent holes (passive cooling), anti-vibration mechanism for hard disk and two USB 2.0 ports. This product is priced at USD 69.

Lian Li Launches PC-A06F Case

Lian Lin has just unveiled PC-A06F mid-tower case. Built in aluminum, this case has four 5 ¼ external bays, three 3 ½” internal bays, seven slots for expansion cards, tool-less mechanisms for optical drive installation, weighs 8.37 lbs (3.8 kg) and measures 7.36” x 14.76” x 19.29” or 187 mm x 375 mm x 490 mm (W x H x D). PC-A06F has a 140-mm frontal fan (900 rpm) and a 120-mm top fan (1.000 rpm). Anti-vibration HDD cage avoids natural vibration produced by the hard drive propagating to the chassis. PC-A06F front, side and top panels are removable. Lian Li's new case shipping now and can be found at about USD 100.

ASUS Launches VENTO TA-U Case

Antec has just officially unveiled NSK 4480 II mini-tower case. Available in black or silver models, this new Antec case has three 5 ¼” external bays, two 3 ½” external bays, three 3 ½” internal bays, seven slots for expansion cards, a 120-mm fan and it comes with a 380 W power supply installed (EarthWatts 380W). Its MSRP is of USD 109.95.

CES 2009: Dragon Case from Lian Li

During this CES Lian Li showed a case inspired by the new AMD Dragon platform. This case is made of red anodized aluminum featuring seven slots for expansion cards (using a high-quality aluminum mechanism to hold daughter boards; slots covers are meshed in order to improve airflow inside the case), a hard disk drive cage supporting up to three hard disks (this cage takes three of the nine 5 ¼” bays from this case) and a cable organizer. As you can see this case has no external 3 ½” bay. As for cooling, this case has a 120-mm front fan (to cool down the hard disk drive cage), a 120-mm rear fan and two 120-mm top fans. On this case the power supply is installed on its bottom part. Lian Li didn’t say when and for how much this unit will reach the market.

CES 2009: Chieftec Shows Case With Embedded Monitor Stand

Chieftec showed during CES an odd case featuring an L-shaped design with an embedded LCD monitor stand. The idea behind this product is very interesting and appropriated to users worried about saving space on their desks. This case has seven slots for expansion cards, one 5 ¼” bay, two 3 ½” bays (all of them with quick release mechanisms) and one 120-mm fan. Chieftec neither say when this product will reach the market nor how much it will cost.
