Thermaltake has updated their TR2 series of affordable power supplies to include six new models (380 W, 450 W, 500 W, 600 W, 700 W, and 800 W) with 80 Plus Bronze certification. These new, non-modular units are compatible with ATX12V V2.3 standard, feature active PFC circuit, a single +12 V rail, Japanese caps rated at 105°C, a 120-mm fan, and protections against over voltage (OVP), under voltage (UVP), over current (OCP), over power (OPP), and short-circuit (SCP). Thermaltake did not provide information on pricing or availability.

Antec has just launched their latest PSU series, the High Current Gamer, which is made up of five non-modular models: HCG-400 (400 W), HCG-520 (520 W), HCG-620 (620 W), HCG-750 (750 W), and HCG-900 (900 W). These units are compatible with the ATX12V v2.3 and EPS12V v2.91 standards, have 80 Plus Bronze certification, active PFC circuit, a 135-mm dual ball-bearing fan, four +12V rails (HCG-750 and HCG-900 models; the others have only one +12 V rail), and protections against over voltage (OVP), over current (OCP), over power (OPP), over temperature (OTP), and short-circuit (SCP). Zalman has updated their ZM850-HP and ZM1000-HP power supplies to make them compatible with the 80 Plus Silver certification. The new units carry the word “Plus” at the end of the name and have the same basic features as their old brothers, like modular cabling system, active PFC circuit, dual-heatpipe internal heatsink, a 140-mm fan, and protections against over current (OCP), over voltage (OVP), short-circuit (SCP), under voltage (UVP), and over temperature (OTP). The ZM850-HP Plus is priced at USD 209.99, while the ZM1000-HP Plus is priced at USD 269.99.

A-Data, a well-known memory manufacturer, is entering the power supply market with the launch of the HM series, comprised with 550 W, 650 W, 750 W, 850 W, and 1,200 W models. Cougar has begun shipping the 550 W and 1,000 W models of their CMX series in the European market. These units feature a DC-DC design, modular cabling system, 80 Plus Bronze certification, multiple +12 V rails, a 140-mm fan, Japanese caps rated at 105°C, and protections against over voltage (OVP), under voltage (UVP), over power (OPP), over current (OCP), and short-circuit (SCP). GeIL Announces Their First PSUs Under New Brand

GeIL, a well-known memory manufacturer, is entering the power supply market under a new brand, Thortech Power. Their two first power supply series will be called Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt PLUS, and products based on these series should be available by the end of next month. The Thunderbolt series is comprised with 650 W, 850 W, 1,000 W, and 1,200 W models, while the Thunderbolt PLUS series features 800 W, 1,000 W, and 1,200 W models. The difference between them is that models from Thunderbolt PLUS series have a 5.25” external control panel to monitor the PSU’s consumption, feature not present on models from the regular Thunderbolt series. Another difference is that models from Thunderbolt PLUS feature a single +12 V rail, while models from Thunderbolt series have four +12 V rails. Despite of that, all models will be compatible with ATX12V 2.3 and EPS12V 2.91 standards, will have active PFC circuit, modular cabling system, 80 Plus Gold certification, a 135 mm fan, and protections against over voltage (OVP), under voltage (UVP), over current (OCP), over power (OPP), and short-circuit (SCP). No word on pricing.

PowerColor, a well-known video card manufacturer, has expanded its product line to power supplies. They’ve just launched two series: Extreme (850 W and 1000 W models featuring modular cabling system) and Gaming (500 W and 600 W models, without modular cabling system). These new PowerColor units are compatible with ATX12V 2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 standards, have active PFC circuit, Japanese caps, and are cooled by a 120 mm (Gaming series) or a 140 mm (Extreme series) fan. The Gaming models have 80 Plus Standard certification, while the Extreme models have 80 Plus Bronze certification.

This new unit features a partial modular cabling system, six +12 V rails, an active PFC circuit, gold-plated connectors, 80 Plus Silver certification, and is cooled by an 80 mm fan.
