Category: Cooling
More Info: http://www.scythe-eu.com/en/products/fans/grand-flex.html
Cooling

Japanese CPU cooler and case fan expert Scythe presents its new top-notch Grand Flex 120 mm fan series. These new axial fans surprise with the aggressive design and are set to be the successor of the incredibly successful S-FLEX series, taking it to the next level in terms of design and performance.

“Sealed Precision FDB” was newly developed from scratch as the core for its Grand Flex 120 mm series. This bearing is based on the “Fluid Dynamic Bearing” technology that has served Scythe well for several popular high-end series in the past, and is now being used as a very solid and reliable foundation for the new design. Scythe’s Fluid Dynamic Bearing utilizes lubricant oil between the shaft and the bearing, resulting in excellent lubrication and silent operation. The used high-grade lubricant oil can withstand high temperatures of up to 250 degree Celsius, and are additionally of special interest for industrial use. Grand Flex 120 case fans are made for long time silent operation and are rated with MTTF (Mean Time To Failure) of 120.000 hours (at 25 degree Celsius).

Another highlight is the completely new design of the nine blades of the Grand Flex 120 and Grand Flex 120 PWM models. Each fan blade is made especially robust and is equipped with an indentation close to the center-hub. Hence allows much more focused and more concentrated airflow towards the cooling area, resulting in better performance when used with cooler heatsinks. In order to reduce the vibration transferred to PC chassis, a set of vibration dampers is supplied with each Grand Flex 120 case fan. In addition, all Grand Flex 120 case fans come with a 500 mm long cable, which is sleeved – allowing it to be conveniently used even in big tower chassis.

To match every users’ taste, Scythe Grand Flex 120 axial fans are available in five different variations. For users seeking constant airflow at fixed speed, total of four models are available, including 800 rpm, 1.200 rpm, 1.600 rpm and 2.000 rpm. Users seeking a fan with PWM support, can rely on the Grand Flex 120 PWM model, which offers a very wide fan speed range from 600 up to 2.400 rpm.

Overview of all models with specifications:

  • SM1225GF12SL: 30.5 CFM at 800 rpm and 18.0 dBA
  • SM1225GF12L: 45.8 CFM at 1,200 rpm and 23.5 dBA
  • SM1225GF12M: 61.1 CFM at 1,600 rpm and 28.5 dBA

Enermax Launches Five New Fan Models
Author: Cássio Lima Date: July 29, 2013 - 9:23 AM PST
Category: Cooling
More Info: http://www.enermaxusa.com/downloads/Product%20Launch%20-%20Enermax%20T...
Cooling

Enermax has announced their launch of the latest advanced series of fan models equipped with their all-new patented technology, APS (Adjustable Peak Speed) Control. As the name implies, the peak speed of these fans can be adjusted as preferred, and the speed will be regulated automatically by pulse-width modulation (PWM) or by an integrated thermal sensor after selecting the particular RPM range.

While the current Twister Series has been introduced into the market for more than five years, Enermax decided to add a refreshing twist to the series by adding the new Twister Advance series, offering three different rpm modes which can be selected with a small switch at the fan hub. Users can then easily adapt the Enermax fans for various applications. For instance, the new Cluster Advance 120 mm version fan runs within the ranges of 500 to 1200, 500 to 1500 or 500 to 1800 rpm, so that users can select the best combination for their chassis. Other features such as the patented Twister, carved halo frame and batwing blades are still retained to offer users the best cooling performance.

On the basis of the design of the APS control that allows end users to have different rpm settings and specifications, Enermax releases two new Vegas fans, the four-color LED (blue, red, green and white) and single-color LED models coming in blue, red or white. These two series have 48 LEDs and 18 LEDs respectively, and each contains six lightening modes. These LED specifications truly make Enermax Vegas fans the brightest and shiniest fans in market. In addition, this is the first time that Enermax Vegas fans have the patented carved halo frame, that allows for increased airflow and enhances the overall cooling performance.

Furthermore, just like all other Enermax fans, all of the above five new models utilize the Enermax patented Twister Bearing, a magnetic bearing technology, which helps prevent the abrasion that mechanical bearings such as sleeve or ball-bearings have. This design helps give these Enermax fans a superb lifespan usage of more than 100k hours.

Scythe Intros Mugen 4 CPU Cooler
Author: Cássio Lima Date: June 25, 2013 - 12:22 PM PST
Category: Cooling
More Info: http://www.scythe-eu.com/en/products/cpu-cooler/mugen-4.html
Cooling

Japanese cooling expert Scythe is introducing the successor of its Mugen 3 CPU cooler. Mugen 4 brings a brand new tower-style fin structure design, an optimized heatsink, as well as a greatly improved and simplified mounting mechanism.

Scythe engineers improved the Mugen 3 design with special focus on more compact heatsink dimensions combined with better performance in order to elevate the Mugen to the next level. The outcome is a high-end CPU cooler with the compact dimensions of 5.11 x 3.46 x 6.16 in. (130 x 88 x 156.45 mm) and the weight of 1.37 lb. (625 g), allowing the Mugen 4 to be installed in virtually every computer. Although the heatsink size and weight have been reduced, the performance could be further boosted compared to the predecessor. This was achieved thanks to the newly developed T-M.A.P.S. (Three-dimensional Multiple Airflow Pass-Through Structure) fin structure, which increases the airflow inside the cooling heatsink allowing immensely improved performance.

In the process of improving the performance, the Scythe Glide Stream case fan series played an important role. The supplied 120 mm model supports the PWM standard, allowing the fan speed to be adjusted individually according to the CPU temperature by the motherboard. Thanks to this, a very wide fan speed range from 400 to 1,400 rpm with airflow between 20.7 and 79 cfm can be utilized. Low noise level between 5.3 and 28dBA make the Glide Stream case fan even more suited for the new Mugen 4 allowing it to be even more silent than the predecessor. Users seeking even higher performance are able to use the second fan clip set, which is supplied, to attach a second fan and create a “push-pull” configuration.

Mugen 4 is first to come with the newly developed “Hyper Precision Mounting System” (H.P.M.S.). Hence making the mounting procedure much easier and faster than before. Compatibility to the AMD sockets AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1, and FM2, as well as the Intel sockets LGA 775, 1155, 1156, 1366, and 2011 is assured. In addition, the new LGA 1150 (Intel “Haswell”) socket is fully supported. All required mounting clips and screws are supplied with the Scythe Mugen 4, including one wrench, a multi-lingual manual, and quality thermal grease.

Scythe Mugen 4 is available on the market as of this week with a suggested retail price of 36.00 euros.

Thermaltake Launches NiC Series CPU Coolers
Author: Cássio Lima Date: March 8, 2013 - 12:44 PM PST
Category: Cooling
More Info: http://www.thermaltake.com/content.aspx?id=3679
Cooling

Thermaltake is rolling out its brand new NiC series of CPU coolers. Unlike traditional tower coolers, the new NiC series coolers solve the problem where high performance RAM and CPU coolers could not co-exist in the past. It achieves the best RAM clearance allowing users to install high end overclocking RAM with ease.

The NiC lineup consists of the F3, F4, C4, and C5 models, with TDP ratings of 160 W, 180 W, 200 W and 230 W, respectively. Heat is conducted from the CPU onto the cooler through the thick nickel-coated copper base and then onto the aluminum fins with U-shaped heat-pipes. This ensures the best possible heat dissipation. Furthermore, users can opt for something smaller and cooled with a single 120 mm fan, or go for coolers that have shrouds to contain the air flow, or go with a pair of 120 mm fans to allow for the best performance of both selections of the NiC series line.

Single 120 mm PWM fan (F3), dual 120 mm PWM fans (F4) with automatically adjustable silent fan blades at a range of 800-1,600
rpm; or both VR fans (C4/C5) are attached to an adjustable fan speed knob where the speed of the fan(s) can be manually adjusted from 1,000-2,000 rpm. The convenient tool-less fan clip design makes installation a breeze.

No word on pricing.
