Creative has announced the introduction of a new audio standard called Xtreme Fidelity. It is based on the upcoming X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity audio processor, which brings more than 51 million transistors and is capable of 10,000+ MIPS. According to the company, the X-Fi is 24 times more powerful than its predecessor. The multiple engine design dynamically direct resources through a modular architecture. New applications will be showcased this week, during the E3 Expo, in Los Angeles.
Creative announced the limited edition Sound Blaster Audigy 4 Pro sound card featuring 113 dB SNR Digital to Analog Converters (DACs) for 24-bit HD audio. It includes an external I/O hub with analog stereo connectors for six-channel input, optical and coaxial digital I/O, full-sized MIDI I/O, microphone with gain control, headphone and volume control and two FireWire ports. The new Creative Smart Recorder software supports automatic scheduling of recordings from any source and cuts the single audio stream into individual tracks. The pack includes the games “Thief: Deadly Shadows” and “Hitman: Contracts”. Sound Blaster Audigy 4 Pro will be available this month priced at US$ 299.
The PCMCIA Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook delivers features previously only available on desktops to notebook users. It combines high quality audio with hardware-accelerated features in a PCMCIA format card. The Audigy 2 ZS Notebook delivers 24-bit HD audio (7.1) with 104dB SNR, allowing resolution at up to 24-bit/192kHz.
