ASUS Unveils Xonar D1 PCI Audio Card

ASUS has just launched a PCI version of the Xonar D1 soundcard. Equipped with AV100 chip, which features a 116 dB output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and a 112 dB input signal-to-noise ratio, with 24-bit resolution and up to 192 KHz sampling rate, this new soundcard features 7.1 audio format and supports DS3D GX 2.0 and VocalFX technologies. Xonar D1 PCI will reach the market next month.

ASUS unveiled the Xonar HDAV1.3, the world’s first HDMI 1.3a compliant audio/video enhancement combo card. Capable of outputting uncompressed multichannel high definition audio from Blu-ray movies, the Xonar HDAV1.3 also enhances incoming HDMI video with an onboard HD processor, says ASUS.

The Xonar HDAV1.3 is capable of decoding Blu-ray movies and delivers the 7.1 channel 192K linear pulse code modulation (LPCM) audio. Xonar sound cards further reduce EMI noise inside modern PCs, providing clean 120 dB SNR and peerless 0.0004% low distortion.

Asustek unveils two new cards from the Xonar audio card family. The Xonar D2X has PCI Express interface 2X and Xonar U1 has  USB interface.A new technoly - DS3D GX extension - provide support for surround sound and hardware accelerated features by translating DirectX to the DS3D GX.

The Xonar D2X also includes the “Acoustics Echo Cancellation” (AEC) technology, which can eliminate up-to-40dB speaker echo return. It features a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 118 dB for both audio in and out. The Xonar D2X is able to deliver 118 dB quality audio for all 7.1 channels. It also includes Dolby Digital Live, which converts PC or game audio content into Dolby Digital in real-time; Dolby Headphone, which creates a surround sound listening experience when using any set of headphones; Dolby Virtual Speaker, which delivers a surround sound listening experience from stereo speakers and Dolby Pro Logic IIx, which creates up to 7.1-channel surround sounds from stereo or 5.1 sources as well as DTS Interactive for real time AC-3 encoding and DTS NEP: PC stereo to multi-channel expander.

The Xonar U1 is an external USB audio device that improves audio by eliminating electromagnetic interference (EMI) and noisy DC circuits inside the PC chassis. It also offers DAC (digital to analog convertor) to improve music or gaming audio. It features Dolby Virtual Speaker, Dolby Headphone, Dolby Digital Live and Dolby Prologic IIx.

Creative Launches Wireless Headphones SE2300

Creative announced the Wireless Headphones SE2300 with bluetooth technology. The earphones also features an audio transmitter that can wirelessly operate up to a range of 10 metres, a cool lightweight design, user-friendly controls and advanced Bluetooth technology.

It has a built in-rechargeable Li-Ion battery, which works up to 8 hours. In addition, the E2300 emits a beeping sound when its battery levels are low. It can be charged using either an AC outlet or USB port.

Logitech Intros Z-10 Speaker System

Logitech this week introduced a new member of its Advanced Peripherals line, the Z-10 Interactive Speaker System, featuring built-in touch-sensitive controls and a backlighted display that shows track, volume, clock and system information from the PC. The equipment integrates one-inch tweeters and three-inch woofers on each satellite and uses a built-in amplifier which splits the high and low frequencies. The speakers also include a headphone jack and a 3.5 mm auxiliary input that can connect to MP3 players or other audio devices. The Z-10 will be available in September for USD 150.

Logitech Announces Wireless DJ Sytem

Logitech this week announced the Wireless DJ Music System, which lets users stream digital music from the PC to any stereo system or powered multimedia speakers, using the company’s Music Anywhere wireless technology. It consists of a transmitter that plugs to the PC via USB and a receiver that connects to the stereo system through a standard RCA connector or mini input jack. Navigation is done with a remote equipped with LCD display and scroll wheel. The range of both the transmitter and the control is 150 feet (50 meters). The Wireless DJ will be available in late September for USD 250.

TwinMOS Launches iPod Audio System

TwinMOS has announced its BooM I 2.1 audio system compatible with most iPod models. The equipment consists of two parts: the system itself, containing four satellite speakers with 32 W total output, and a subwoofer, with 25 W output. Besides iPods, it supports other MP3 players, CD players, desktops, notebooks and TVs through a stereo mini jack connection. The system includes an IrDA remote control and an optional Bluetooth receiver.

The Xtreme Sound incorporates 24-bit Dolby 7.1 surround sound, 10-band equalizer, preset audio environments, headphone, speeker and a multi-track recording and editing studio (Audacity).
