Antec Announces Eleven Hundred Mid-Tower Case

Antec has just announced the Eleven Hundred, the newest member of their Gaming Series. It is a mid-tower computer case compatible with XL-ATX, ATX, microATX and mini-ITX motherboards, that features three 5.25” external bays, two 2.5” internal bays, six 3.5” internal bays, nine slots for expansion cards, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, and two fans, a 200 mm model (blue LED) on the top panel and a 120 mm model on the rear panel.

The Eleven Hundred will be available by the end of month priced at USD 129.95.

SteelSeries Announces Simraceway SRW-S1 Steering Wheel

SteelSeries has announced the Simraceway SRW-S1, a PC gaming steering wheel designed in partnership with Ignite Gaming Technologies. The Simraceway SRW-S1includes a motionsensor for steering and a patent-pending throttle and brake paddle system for a fully simulated driving experience without the need for floor pedals. It features 15 buttons, three mode dials, a D-pad and four rear paddles for manual gear changes, accelerator and brake.

The Simraceway SRW-S1 steering wheel is available now for USD 119.99.

Kingston Launches DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 USB Flash Drives

Kingston has launched a new series of USB 3.0 flash drives, dubbed DataTraveler HyperX 3.0, which is available in 64 GB (USD 193), 128 GB (USD 377) and 256 GB capacities. DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 drives can reach read and write speeds of 225 MB/s and 135 MB/s, respectively, in USB 3.0 mode. They feature 8-channel architecture, support ReadyBoost technology, and come with a rubberized casing to increase protection.

Memory Manufacturers Intros Quad-Channel Kits

The newest of Intel’s Core i7-300 series of processors, codenamed “Sandy Bridge-E,” support the new quad-channel memory architecture, which quadruples the available memory bandwidth.

Patriot, Corsair and G.Skill have already launched their quad-channel memory kits for motherboards using the socket 2011 Intel Core i7 processor family.

Intel Releases Core i7 ”Sandy Bridge-E“ Processors

Today, Intel released their Core i7-3000 series of processors, codenamed “Sandy Bridge-E.” Two models were launched, the Core i7-3960X Extreme Edition and the Core i7-3930K, with a third model (Core i7-3820) scheduled for 2012.

These new processors, along with the new Intel X79 chipset, constitute an entirely new platform, dubbed the LGA2011 platform. Sandy Bridge-E chips have the same instruction set as the Sandy Bridge chips. The difference between them lies in the memory controller. Sandy Bridge-E CPUs feature the new quad-channel memory architecture supporting DDR3 memories up to 1,600 MHz officially, while Sandy Bridge CPUs feature triple-channel memory architecture and support DDR3 memory up to 1,066 MHz.

The new LGA2011 CPUs have a total of 40 PCI Express lanes for video cards. This allows the following video card configurations:

  • Two video cards at x16 and one video card at x8
  • One video card at x16 and three video cards at x8
  • One video card at x16, two video cards at x8, and two video cards at x4

Thermaltake has announced the release of the Smart series of power supplies, which are available in non-modular and modular versions. These units are compatible with ATX12V v2.3 standards, feature 80 Plus Bronze certification (modular units) or 80 Plus Standard (non-modular units), a single +12 V rail, active PFC circuitry, Japanese solid capacitors, a 120 mm fan (non-modular units) or a 140 mm fan (modular units), and protection against over current (OCP), under voltage (UVP), over voltage (OVP), short-circuit (SCP) and over power (OPP) protections. BitFenix Releases Raider Mid-Tower Case

The Raider is the latest mid-tower case from BitFenix that will be available in stores early next month. It features four 5.25” external bays, six 3.5” internal bays, seven 2.5” internal bays, seven slots for expansion cards, four USB 3.0 ports, and two 120 mm fans, one on the front panel and one on the rear panel.

The Raider supports mini-ITX, microATX and ATX motherboards, has holes through which to pass liquid cooling tubes, and a fan speed controller. It will be available next month with a suggested price of USD 89.

Today, Corsair announced the Performance Pro series of SSD drives, which feature SATA-600 interface and a Marvell controller. Available in 128 GB and 256 GB capacities, these drives have MLC memory chips and provide maximum read and write speeds of up to 515 MB/s and 440 MB/s, respectively. They also come with a 3.5” adapter for easy installation in both laptop and desktop PCs.

Kingston Unveils SSDNow V200 SATA-600 SSD Series

Kingston has just expanded their offering of SSD drives with the launch of the SSDNow V200 series. These drives are available in 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB versions, come in a 2.5” form factor, feature a JMicron controller, MLC memory chips and SATA-600 interface. Speeds vary according to the model: 260 MB/s (read) and 100 MB/s (write) for the 64 GB model, 300 MB/s (read) and 190 MB/s (write) for the 128 GB model, and 300 MB/s (read) and 230 MB/s (write) for the 256 GB model.

HIS Launches Radeon HD 6450 with 2 GB of Memory

Today, HIS announced the launch of a low-profile Radeon HD 6450 video card equipped with 2 GB of GDDR3 memory. Dubbed Radeon HD 6450 Silence 2 GB, this video card is intended for users of home theater PCs. It works internally at 625 MHz and accesses its memory at 1 GHz through a 64-bit interface. Panasonic Announces Toughpad A1 and B1 Tablets

Panasonic has introduced the Toughpad family of professional-grade tablets, which includes the 10.1-inch Toughpad A1 and the 7-inch Toughpad B1 models. Both devices were designed to withstand extreme conditions and will be launched next year. They run on the Android operating system. 

The Toughpad A1 features a 1.2 GHz dual-core Marvell processor, 16 GB of storage space, 1 GB of LP-DDR2 memory, a 10.1-inch XGA touchscreen display (1024x768), a microSD card slot, a micro USB port, a micro HDMI port, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front camera, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, 4G (LTE or WiMAX), and a battery that provides up to 10 hours of operation. The Toughpad A1 will start at USD 1,299.

Panasonic didn’t disclose much information about the Toughpad B1 model.
