Corsair has increased its Extreme Series family of 2.5” SSD drives (which already has 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 models) with the launch of X256 model, as its own name suggests has 256 GB capacity. X256 has an Indilinx Barefoot controller, SATA-300 interface, 64 MB of cache and read and write speeds of 240 MB/s and 170 MB/s, respectively. No word on pricing and availability.

Mushkin Announces DDR3 Kits For AMD Processors

Mushkin announced today four dual-channel DDR3 memory kits specially designed for AMD processors based on AM3 socket. Below you can see the main specs for these new kits:

  • 996657AM3: 4 GB DDR3 dual-channel kit clocked at 1,600 MHz (PC3-12800) with 7-7-7-20 timings at 1.85 V-1.95 V.
  • 996601AM3: 4 GB DDR3 dual-channel kit clocked at 1,600 MHz (PC3-12800) with 7-7-6-16 timings at 1.85 V-1.95 V.

Patriot Unleashes Sector 5 Memory Series

Patriot has announced the launch of its Sector 5 memory series specially designed to the new Intel P55 chipset (that will support the upcoming Intel 45-nm Lynnfield processors: Core i5-750, Core i7-860 and Core i7-870). Sector 5 series is comprised with dual-channel DDR3 kits with clocks ranging from 1,333 MHz to 2,000 MHz. All Sector 5 modules feature Viper II heatspread. Below you can see the main specs for Sector 5 kits.

  • PVV34G2000LLKB: 4 GB (2 GB x 2) DDR3 dual-channel kit clocked at 2,000 MHz with 8-8-8-24 timings. This kit comes with the benchmarking software Futuremark 3DMark Vantage.

Thermaltake has just launched its newest mid-tower case, WingRS 301. Equipped with four 5 ¼” external bays, one 3 ½” external bay, four 3 ½” internal bays and seven slots for expansion cards, this new case features tool-less mechanisms for hard drives and daughter cards installation, a handle available on its top part to allow users to easily transport their computer, a 120-mm rear fan (1,300 rpm; 17 dBA) and a place on its front panel for a 120-mm optional fan. WingRS 301 case is available in two versions: with or without a 430 W power supply. No word on pricing and availability.

Cooler Master has just launched its first gaming mouse under CM Storm brand (Cooler Master gaming line-up), Sentinel Advance. This mouse has a 5,600 DPI sensor, an onboard 64 KB memory to store five different profiles and a modularized weight system that can be configured between 139 to 161.5 g in increments of 4.5 g. Also, you can display logos on the mouse uploaded via the PC. No word on pricing and availability.

MSI Announces N275GTX Lightning Video Card

MSI has expanded its Lightning line-up with the launch of N275GTX (GeForce 275 GTX), a factory-overclocked video card. This new card works internally at 700 MHz (10.58% above default clock of 633 MHz), accesses its 1,792 MB of GDDR3 at 2,300 MHz (1.41% above default clock of 2,268 MHz) thru a 448-bit interface and has VGA, DVI and HDMI connectors. Also, N275GTX Lightning features a 10-phase voltage regulator, a 10-layer PCB, a Twin Frozr II cooler (two 80-mm fans and five heatpipes), a power management technology with active phase switching and comes with Lightning Afterburner overclocking utility that allows users to tune GPU voltage, GPU and memory clock. Information on pricing and availability weren't provided.

CPU AMD has just introduced on the market Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition, a 45-nm quad-core processor based on socket AM3 that works internally at 3.4 GHz, has 2 MB L2 cache, 6 MB L3 cache, a built-in DDR2/DDR3 memory controller, 4 GHz HyperTransport bus and TDP of 140 W. BFG Debuts EX-1000 PSU

BFG has just unveiled EX-1000 (BFGR1000WEXPSU), a 1,000 W power supply (at 40°C) compliant with the ATX12V 2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 standards and that features Frequency Conversion technology, which means this unit can emulate virtually any size power supply and therefore be at least 80% efficient even with loads as low as 10% of the unit's maximum capacity. This unit also features modular cabling system, four 12 V rails, a 135-mm fan and protections against over-voltage, overload and short circuits. EX-1000 PSU can be found on the market costing USD 200.

Lian Li Launches Tyr PC-X1000 Full-tower Case

Lian Li has launched a full-tower case called Tyr PC-X1000. All built-up in aluminum, this new case features three 5 ¼” external bays (one of them can be converted to a 3 ½” bay), six 3 ½” internal bays and eight slots for expansion cards. Tyr PC-X1000 has several features like removable motherboard tray, watercooling support, anti-vibration mechanism for power supply, tool-less mechanisms for daughter cards, hard drives and motherboard installation, dust filter on the case base, no sharp edges where you could cut yourself while assembling the PC and is divided in chambers to improve airflow. As for cooling, Tyr PC-X1000 comes with Five 140-mm fans (1,200 rpm), three located on the front panel and two located on the rear panel. This case has four USB, one Firewire and one e-SATA connectors, besides the traditional audio jacks. According to Lian Li this case will reach the market later this month costing USD 420.

nVidia SLI Technology is Now Licensed For Intel Motherboards

Video nVidia has announced that Intel and the main motherboard manufacturers (ASUS, EVGA, Gigabyte and MSI) have licensed nVidia SLI technology for inclusion on their Intel P55 Express Chipset-based motherboards designed for the upcoming Intel Core i7 and i5 processors in the LGA1156 socket. So users of P55-based motherboard and upcoming Core processors can equip their PCs with more than one nVidia-based video card under SLI configuration. It is always good to remember that Intel chipsets are already compatible with the competing technology, CrossFireX from AMD.
