Sparkle has expanded their Calibre video card line-up with the launch of a factory-overclocked model based on the GeForce GTX 570 GPU. The Calibre X570 works internally at 772 MHz (5.46% above de stock clock of 732 MHz), has 1,280 MB of GDDR5 memory running at 4,212 MHz (10.84% above de stock clock of 3,800 MHz) through a 320-bit interface, and features two DVI and one mini-HDMI connectors. Corsair has just released the TX V2 Enthusiast series of power supplies, comprised of 650 W, 750 W, and 850 W non-modular models. These units are compatible with ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 standards, have a synchronous design with DC-DC conversion, a single +12 V rail, active PFC circuit, 80 Plus Bronze certification, and are cooled by a 140-mm double ball-bearing fan. Corsair Enthusiast Series TX V2 power supplies are now available from Corsair-authorized retailers in the Americas and Europe, and will be available in Asia in March. Arctic has expanded their CPU cooler offering with the launch of the Freezer 13 Pro. This cooler is compatible with Intel (sockets 775, 1156, and 1366) and AMD (sockets 754, 939, AM2, AM2+, AM3) processors, features an aluminum heatsink, four 8-mm U-shaped copper heatpipes, and a 120-mm fluid dynamic bearing fan (300 to 1250 rpm). An additional 50-mm fan (700 to 2700 rpm) is located at the base of the CPU cooler to cool the northbridge chip and voltage regulators. The Freezer 13 Pro is priced at USD 54.90. Thermaltake has officially launched the Frio OCK (OverClocker Kings), a CPU cooler compatible with Intel (sockets 775, 1156, 1366) and AMD (sockets AM3, AM2+, AM2) processors. The cooler features a dual tower heatsink, six 6-mm U-shapped copper heatpipes, and two 130-mm fans with speed manually controlled via a knob from 1,200 to 2,100 rpm (maximum noise level of 48 dBA). MSI has just expanded their Hawk series of video card with the launch of the R6870 Hawk, a factory-overclocked card based on the Radeon HD 6870 GPU. This video card works internally at 930 MHz (3.33% above the stock clock of 900 MHz), has 1 GB of GDDR5 memory accessed at 4,200 MHz (the same clock as the stock model) through a 256-bit interface, and DVI, HDMI and mini DisplayPort video outputs. It comes with the MSI’s Twin Frozr III dual-slot cooling solution (two 80 mm fans, five 8-mm heatpipes, nickel-plated copper base, and a new propeller blade technology) that reduces the temperature by 20°C and noise by 7 dB when compared to the reference design. The R6870 Hawk video card features a 10-phase voltage regulator circuit, APS (Active Phase Switching, which enables or disables phases according to the GPU load), military class components, voltage check points, and over current protection (OCP). Enermax has introduced the NAXN series of power supplies, which is divided into another three sub-series: NAXN (Tomahawk II), NAXN 80+, and NAXN 82+. Antec has updated their popular P183, P193, Nine Hundred Two, and Twelve Hundred cases to include three new features: - A USB 3.0 port on the front panel
- A 2.5” hard drive/SSD bay (two bays in the P183 and P193 models, and one bay in the Nine Hundred Two and Twelve Hundred)
- A huge hole in the motherboard tray for accessing the backplate of the CPU cooler
The other features are pretty much the same from the original versions. The updated models are called “V3”. Intel has halted the production of 6 series chipsets (H67 and P67, codename Cougar Point) due to a problem that can affect significantly the performance of the four SATA-300 controlled by these chipsets. The problem, however, do not affect the two SATA-600 ports. Intel has already fixed the problem and will come back to production of the 6 series chipsets by the end of this month. Users who have already bought a motherboard based on the H67 or P67 chipset should contact the vendor to proceed with replacement. This recall should cost USD 1 billion to Intel.
