Noctua expanded its Premium fan series with the launch of a 140-mm model (NF-P14 FLX). This new fan comes with an adapter allowing you to change fan speed (1,200 rpm, 900 rpm or 750 rpm; maximum noise level of 19.6 dBA) and its blades are “cut” in order to improve air flow. NF-P14 FLX will reach the market next month costing USD 24.90.

HighPoint has announced the launch of Rocket 600 series of SATA-600 cards based on PCI Express 2.0 x1 interface. Two models were launched: Rocket 620 and Rocket 622. The difference between them is that the latter has eSATA connectors. Rocket 600 series will be available at the beginning of the next month priced at USD 69.99 (Rocket 620 model) and USD 79.99 (Rocket 622 model).

Kingston Launches 40 GB SSD Drive

Kingston has increased its SSDNow V series of 2.5” SSD drives with the launch of a 40 GB model. This new drive has SATA-300 interface and provides read and write speeds of 170 MB/s and 40 MB/s, respectively. Its MSRP is of USD 115.

New Mid-tower Case from NZXT

NZXT has just launched its newest mid-tower case targeted to gamers, Gamma. Built-up in steel and all-black painted (even internally), Gamma has four 5 ¼” external bays, seven 3 ½” internal bays, seven slots for expansion cards, meshed side panel, tool-less mechanism for hard drives installation and water-cooling support. Gamma comes with a 120-mm rear fan (23 dB/42 CFM), but supports up to five optional fans (one on of 120-mm on the front panel, two of 120-mm on the side panel and two of 120- or 140-mm on the top panel. Gamma is now available in Europe at € 39.90.

Other Microsoft has officially launched its latest operating system, the famous Windows 7. Among new features we can say improved graphic interface, higher performance than its predecessor (14 times faster than Vista), support to DirectX 11, Internet Explorer 8, Windows Media Player 12 and easier networking configuration and more. Windows 7 is available in four versions: Starter (OEM only), Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate, the last three costing about USD 120, USD 200 and USD 320, respectively.

Albatron Announces Optical Touch Monitor

Albatron announced today a 42” monitor featuring an optical touch technology to track finger movements. According to the company, the optical approach is more sensitive, durable and accurate than traditional resistive technology. This monitor has a native resolution of 1920x1080, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a 9 ms response time, a 120 Hz refresh rate, a maximum brightness of 700 cd/m2 and VGA, DVI, HDMI, RS232C and USB connectors. No word on pricing and availability.

Spire has launched Slimod (SP281S2-PWM), a cooler compatible with the latest nVidia and AMD/ATI video cards. This cooler features two 80-mm fans with speed controlled via PWM, has three copper heatpipes and 30 aluminum fins. Below you can see a list of the video card supported by this cooler. G.Skill has launched its first “Green” DDR3 memory kits within ECO series. These new kits are comprised with DDR3 modules powered at 1.35 V, instead of 1.65 V as defined by JEDEC specification. The following kits were announced:

AMD/ATI has just launched its Radeon HD 5700 series of video cards (DirectX 11). Two models were launched: Radeon HD 5770 and HD 5750. Radeon HD 5770 works internally at 850 MHz, has 1 GB GDDR5 accessed at 4.8 GHz (1,200 MHz real) thru a 128-bit interface, 800 stream processors and a recommended price tag of USD 159. Radeon HD 5750 works internally at 705 MHz, has 512 MB or 1 GB GDDR5 accessed at 4.6 GHz (1,150 MHz real) thru a 128-bit interface, 720 stream processors and a recommended price tag of USD 129 (1 GB model) or USD 109 (512 MB model).

nVidia Launches GeForce GT 220 and 210

nVidia launched today its first 40-nm desktop GPUs, GeForce GT 220 and GeForce 210. GeForce GT 220 works internally at 625 MHz, accesses its 1 GB DDR3 at 790 MHz thru a 128-bit interface, has 48 shader processors working at 1,360 MHz and supports DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL 3.1 programming models. GeForce 210 works internally at 589 MHz, accesses its 512 MB DDR2 at 500 MHz thru a 64-bit interface, has 16 shader processors working at 1,402 MHz and supports DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL 3.1 programming models. Scythe has unveiled Samurai ZZ (SCSMZ-2000), a CPU cooler compatible with Intel (sockets 478, 775, 1156 and 1366) and AMD (sockets 754, 939, 940, AM2, AM2+ and AM3) processors.
