Power Thermaltake has expanded its Litepower series of power supply with the launch of the following models: 350 W (W0363 and W0367), 450 W (W0361 and W0362) and 550 W (W0369). These new units are compatible with ATX12V 2.2 standard, feature two +12 V rails, active PFC (except on 350 W W0363 and 450 W W0362 models), a 120-mm fan (80-mm on 350 W models) and protections against over voltage, over power and short-circuit. The suggested prices for these units are:
  • W0363 (350 W): USD 29.99.
  • W0367 (350 W, with active PFC): USD 32.99.
  • W0361 (450 W, with active PFC): USD 49.99.
  • W0362 (450 W): USD 47.99.
  • W0369 (550 W, with active PFC): Information not available.

Club 3D Launches Overclocked Radeon HD5800 Video Cards

Club 3D has launched two AMD/ATI Radeon HD5800 factory-overclocked video cards: Radeon HD 5870 and Radeon HD 5850. Radeon HD 5870 Overclocked Edition works internally at 875 MHz (2.94% above stock clock of 850 MHz), has 1 GB GDDR5 accessed at 4.9 GHz QDR (2.08% above stock clock of 4.8 GHz QDR) thru a 256-bit interface and features two DVI, one HDMI and one DisplayPort connectors. Radeon HD 5850 Overclocked Edition works internally at 760 MHz (4.83% above stock clock of 725 MHz), has 1 GB GDDR5 accessed at 4.2 GHz QDR (5% above stock clock of 4 GHz QDR) thru a 256-bit interface and also features two DVI, one HDMI and one DisplayPort connectors. Buying one of these cards you also take home the game Dirt 2. Radeon HD 5870 and Radeon HD 5850 from Club 3D have a suggested price of USD 594 and USD 445, respectively.

OCZ has officially launched Vertex Limited Edition SSD drive. It is a 2.5” unit available in 100 GB and 200 GB capacities that features MLC memory chips, a SandForce SF-1500 controller, SATA-300 interface and presents read and write speeds of up to 270 MB/s and 250 MB/s, respectively. No word on pricing and availability.

Corsair Announces Obsidian 700D Mid-tower Case

Corsair has announced the launch of Obsidian 700D mid-tower case. This new case features steel body and aluminum frontal panel, has five 5 ¼” external bays, six 3 ½” internal bays (compatible with 2 ½” devices) and seven slots for expansion cards. Its interior is painted black and it comes with several neat features like holes for routing cables behind the motherboard tray (all protected by rubber covers), a huge hole on the motherboard tray for you to have access to the backplate from the CPU cooler, allowing you to replace it without having to remove the motherboard, watercooling support and tool-less mechanism for hard drives installation. As for cooling, Obsidian 700D is equipped with three 140-mm fans, one on the front panel, one on the rear panel and one on the top panel. No word on pricing and availability.

Active Media has just launched Aviator-2 series of SSD units based on USB 3.0 connection. Available in 64 GB (USD 259.95) and 128 GB (USD 449.95) models, these new SSD drives from Active Media provide read and write speeds of 230 MB/s and 160 MB/s (120 MB/s on 128 GB model), respectively. The company also offers a case (USD 35) for 2.5” SSD units with USB 3.0 connectivity.

Sparkle has extended its Calibre line-up with the launch of two GeForce GT 240 video cards: X240 (512 MB GDDR5) and X240G (1 GB GDDR5). These cards works internally at 630 MHz (14.55% above stock clock of 550 MHz), access the memory at 3,600 MHz QDR (5.88% above stock clock of 3,400 MHz QDR) thru a 128-bit interface, have 96 stream processors running at 1,677 MHz (25.15% above stock clock of 1,340 MHz) and VGA, DVI and HDMI connectors. These cards feature a dual-slot cooler solution that features a fan with two blade layers, which has a self-cleaning function where fan will rotate clockwise for 30 seconds after turned on, then counter-clockwise to remove dust from internal parts. No word on pricing and availability.

Lian Li has just announced the launch of PC-A77F full-tower case. Built-up in aluminum and available in black (PC-A77FB) and silver (PC-A77FA), this new Lian Li case features 12 5 ¼” external bays, nine 3 ½” internal bays and eight slots for expansion cards. As for cooling, PC-A77F has three 120-mm frontal fans (1,200 rpm; red LED), two 140-mm top fans (1,000 rpm) and one 120-mm rear fan (1,500 rpm). PC-A77F also features four USB 3.0 ports, one eSATA port, tool-less mechanisms for hard drives and expansion cards installation, watercooling support and anti-vibration mechanism for hard disks. PC-A77F will reach the market by the end of next month costing USD 390.

Panasonic Announces the World’s "Sturdiest” Tablet PC

Panasonic has just expanded their Toughbook line-up with the launch of what they’re claiming to be the world’s sturdiest Tablet PC, Toughbook H1 Field. The device has a 10.4” touch-screen display (native resolution of 1024x768), is equipped with a Intel Atom Z540 (1.86 GHz) processor, has 2 GB RAM, 64 GB reinforced SSD, wireless (802.11a/b/g/n) and Bluetooth 2.1 connections, two batteries that together provide up to 6 hours of operation and several optional features like GPS, barcode reader, 2 Mpixel built-in webcam and fingerprint reader. The operating system used can be Windows 7 or XP. Toughbook H1 Field also features a magnesium alloy chassis encased with polycarbonate that provides protection from drops up to 6 feet. It is also waterproof and dustproof. Toughbook H1 Field will reach the market next month with a suggested price of USD 3,379.

Mushkin Announces Redline DDR3-1600 Memory Kits

Mushkin has launched two DDR3 memory kits within their Redline series: 998805 (triple-channel; 2 GB x 3) and 996805 (dual-channel; 2 GB x 2). Both kits make use of modules working at 1,600 MHz with 6-8-6-24 timings at 1.65 V. The Redline triple-channel 998805 is priced at € 190, while dual-channel 996805 is priced at € 130.

AMD/ATI Launches Radeon HD 5570

AMD/ATI launched today one more DirectX 11 video card, Radeon HD 5570. So, it is their eighth video card compatible with DirectX 11 programming model, while its rival, nVidia, hasn’t launched any yet. Radeon HD 5570 works internally at 650 MHz, has 1 GB DDR3 accessed at 900 MHz real (or 1,800 MHz DDR) thru a 128-bit interface, has 400 stream processors, a maximum power consumption of 45 W, supports CrossFireX and ATI Eyefinity technologies and features VGA, DVI and HDMI connectors. This card has a suggested price of USD 79. Below you can see a list of manufacturers who already launched models based on this new AMD/ATI video card.

Samsung Announces Hard Disk with Michael Jackson's THIS IS IT

Samsung has announced the launch of a 500 GB external hard disk drive, called Samsung S2 Portable, adorned with an image of Michael Jackson and that comes pre-loaded with THIS IS IT, the latest movie about the King of Pop. Technically speaking, it is a 2.5” disk with USB 2.0 interface and that supports AES-128 or AES-256 encryption. Samsung S2 Portable disk will reach the European market on February 22nd (together with the DVD and Blu-ray versions of the film), but its price is still unknown.

Thermaltake has expanded their Toughpower XT series of power supplies with the launch of 575 W (USD 109), 675 W (USD 135), 775 W (USD 145) and 875 W (USD 159) models. These new units are compliant with ATX12V 2.3 and EPS12V 2.91 standards, have 80 Plus Bronze certification (efficiency up to 89%), use a DC-DC converter, a single +12 V rail design, have active PFC circuit, a set of three LEDs that gives you basic status about the power supply working conditions, and a switch where you can configure the power supply fan (140 mm; 1,900 rpm) to keep spinning for 15 or 30 seconds after you turn off your PC. These new Toughpower XT units should reach the market soon.

MSI has officially launched the first model within their Hawk series of video cards. R5770 Hawk is a video card based on AMD/ATI Radeon HD 5770 GPU that makes use of a black PCB, has solid state capacitors and solid state inductors, a 7+1-phase regulator voltage, voltage measurement points and a Twin Frozr II cooler, which features three heatpipes. This card works internally at 850 MHz (the same clock as reference model), has 1 GB GDDR5 accessed at 4.8 GHz QDR (the same clock as reference model), and DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs. No word on pricing and availability.
