Zotac has announced a GeForce GTX 550 Ti video card equipped with two DVI, two HDMI, and one DisplayPort video outputs. This configuration allows users to install up to three monitors. Next month, AMD is going to launch their first desktop APUs (Accelerated Processing Units) manufactured in 32 nm technology. These new APUs will be part of the AMD A-Series (codename Llano) and will feature a new socket, dubbed FM1. APUs (Accelerated Processing Units) are AMD processors that have a CPU, a GPU, and a north bridge (including a memory controller) in the same die. They’re also known as Fusion processors. In spite of still being a few weeks away from the official launch of AMD A-Series APUs, Biostar has already announced their first FM1 motherboards, which include three models: TA75A+, TA75M+, and TA75M. All of them are equipped with the upcoming Hudson D3 chipset, four DDR3 memory sockets, six SATA-600 ports, four USB 3.0 ports, 7.1 channel audio, one (TA75M) or two (TA75A+, TA75M+) PCI Express x16 slots, and HDMI, DVI and VGA outputs. Panasonic announced its plans to launch an enterprise-grade, Toughbook-branded tablet to the market. This tablet is a heavy-duty product, ideal for users who work in extreme environments. Today AMD officially launched their A-Series line of APUs (codenamed “Llano”) targeted for both notebooks and desktops systems. APUs or Accelerated Processing Units are processors that have a CPU, a GPU, and a north bridge (including a memory controller) in the same die. A-Series APUs are built in a 32-nm process, features a DirectX 11 GPU, a DDR3 memory controller, are compatible with the FM1 socket, and support Turbo Core technology (on select models). According to AMD, over 150 notebooks and desktops will sport A-Series APUs throughout the second quarter of 2011 and beyond. In the table below you can see the models launched and their main specs. Today, Lian Li launched two brand new, all-aluminum computer cases: PC-C60 and PC-6. While the former is targeted to HTPC systems, the latter is a mid-tower model. Samsung has launched the Spinpoint M8, a 2.5-inch internal hard drive that provides users with 1 TB of storage space. It is not the first 1 TB 2.5-inch hard drive from Samsung. Last year, the company launched the Spinpoint MT2, a 1 TB 2.5-inch hard drive that had three 333 GB platters and a height of 12.5 mm. The new Spinpoint M8 is thinner than the Spinpoint MT2 (9.5 mm vs. 12.5 mm) because it uses two 500 GB platters. It has SATA-300 interface, 8 MB of cache, and spins at 5,400 rpm. The FX brand was first introduced with the Athlon 64 FX back in September 2003. It was used to indicate processors with clock multiplier unlocked. The company dropped the FX brand for its CPUs in 2007. Today, AMD announced that it will be reintroducing the FX brand that will be used in their first processors based on the Bulldozer microarchitecture (codename Zambezi) due out later this year (August or September).
