Samsung announces giant plasma screen

Iomega ships new external HDs

Nvidia announces PureVideo technology

Elpida develops new DRAM technology

The technology is also supposed to allow volume-produced DRAM to achieve the higher performance necessary for future applications while remaining cost-competitive. The high-end X850 have the same architecture as the X800 family, with 256-bit GDDR3 memory interface and over 160 million transistors, but offers higher clock speeds. There will be three models available: X850 XT Platinum Edition (16 pixel pipelines, 540 MHz, memory at 1,180 MHz), X850 XT (16 pipelines, 520 MHz, 1,080 MHz) and X850 Pro (12 pipelines, 520 MHz, 1,080 MHz).
