NEC unveils a new 24-inch LCD monitor. The MultiSync LCD2470WNX features a  4-way ergonomic stand to adjust the display height, tilt swivel and orientation (from landscape to portrait). It also can be detached from the stand for arm or wall mounting.

The new monitor has a 1,920×1,200 of resolution, 1,000:1 of contrast ratio and 16:10 of aspect ratio.

Plextor Launches 5.25" Dual-Bay Solution

Plextor has announced the PX-DB608AL solution, a slim line optical drive solution for desktop PCs. The 'dual-bay' Plextor PX-DB600 features two optical slim line drives which fits into the space of just one 5.25 " drive.

This new product comes with the PX-DB600 dual bay unit with 2 slim line slots, and One PX-608AL slim line slot loaded optical drive which is capable of Write DVD+R 8x, DVD+R DL 4x, DVD-R 8x, DVD-R DL 4x, DVD+RW 8x, DVD-RW 6x, DVD-RAM 5x, CD-R 24x, CD-RW 24x and read at DVD-ROM 8x, CD-ROM 24x

Microsoft Announces Wireless Laser Desktop 4000

Microsoft Hardware announced the launch of the Wireless Laser Desktop 4000. It includes the Comfort Curve Keyboard design and a high definition laser mouse. The most interesting feature is the one-touch access to Windows Vista and Windows Live.

The Start Button launches the Windows Start menu; the Gadget Button provides information such as weather, news, stock quotes and more; the LiveCall Button starts an instant messaging session or a video call; the zoom allows users zoom in and out of pictures.

It also features 'My Favorites Keys', which deliver one-touch access to users most-used Web sites, files and folders and the 'Customizable Hot Keys', to launch some of the favorite programs.

The Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 4000 will be available in April 2007 for an estimated retail price of USD 79.95.

Chaintech Launches memory modules Apogee GT

Chaintech has announced new memory modules Apogee GT, which features extruded aluminum and heat-sinks. They are available in 1GB and 2GB kits. A 4GB module kit is scheduled for the second or third quarter.

They comes in two speeds: 800+ (according to the company, the plus indicates that Chaintech guarantees overclockability) and latencies of 4-4-4-12 CL4; and 1066+ at 5-5-5-15 CL5.

Samsung has announced at CeBIT the new LCD monitor SyncMaster 940UX, which can be connected via USB. Another interesting news abou the monitor says it was developed in conjuction with DisplayLink company. A DL-120 chip makes it possible to connect this monitor to your graphics card or a motherboard. Users can put up to five additional 940UX monitors and works in an environment of 7680x1024 pixels, or put three monitors on top of lower three and have a working desktop of 3840x2048.

SanDisk Announces 8 GB SDHC

SanDisk introduced an 8 GB SD High Capacity (SDHC) card, the highest capacity now available in the SD format. The new card holds more than 4,000 high-resolution pictures, as many as 2,000 digital songs or up to 15 hours of MPEG 4 video2.

The 8GB SDHC card will come bundled with a SanDisk MicroMate USB 2.0 reader. It will be available in April in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In the United States, it will carry a manufacturer's suggested retail price of USD 189.99.

SanDisk Launches 2.5" SATA SSD

SanDisk unveiled its solid state drive (SSD) product line for the portable computer market with the 32 GB, 2.5-inch Serial ATA interface model. The new SSD is compatible with most mainstream notebook designs.

SanDisk SSDs deliver 2 million hours mean time between failures (MTBF), approximately six times more than notebook hard disks. With no moving parts, SanDisk SSDs are also much less likely to fail when a notebook computer is dropped or exposed to extreme temperatures.

In notebook computers, data moves to and from an SSD more than 100 times faster than data moving to and from a hard disk. The new model sustained read rate of 67 MB/s. The SSDs have also minimal power requirements: just 0.9 watts during active operation.

It is available now to computer manufacturers with initial pricing of $350 USD for large volume orders.

Sony debuts two lightweight photo printers, the DPP-FP70 and DPP-FP90 PictureStation. Both printers allow users to preview and edit photos before printing with built-in displays and editing features. The DPP-FP90 printer has a 3.6-inch LCD screen that tilts and adjusts for easy viewing.  The DPP-FP70 model features a 2.5-inch built-in viewing screen. They will be available in March for about USD 200 and USD 150, respectively.

LG will showcase at CeBIT 2007 the GSA-E50, an external Super-Multi Portable DVD drive. It comes with USB BUS Power and AC adapter for high speed. The drive has up to 8x DVD+R, DVD-R write speeds in addition to 8.5 GB double layer recording and 5x for DVD-RAM. It will be also available in a lightscribe version, dubbed GSA-E50L. SanDisk announces Extreme III with 4 GB SDHC class 6 and a 4 GB Memory Stick PRO Duo Card. The SDHC card will be packaged with a SanDisk MicroMate USB 2.0 Reader - a $20 value. A 4GB SanDisk Extreme III card can store more than 2,000 high-resolution pictures or up to 8 hours of MPEG 4 video.

The SDHC card has a read/write speed of 20 MB/s, and the Memory Stick PRO Duo card has a read/write speed of 18 MB/s.
