System integration expects AMD's K10 in the next few days. The expected "Barcelona" is included in this 10ª generation (K10). "Barcelona", in fact, is an Opteron 65 nm quad-core  processor with 512KB of cache L2, 2 MB cache of L3 and incorporates new technologies, such as AMD Virtualization (AMD-V), Dual Dynamic Power Management (which allows the power requirements of each memory controller to be managed separately from the cores) and others technologies to save power. Being part of the new K10 series, the Opteron "Shangai" has dual-core and single-core model.

Intel unveils at the Games Convention in Germany its new high-end X7900 CPU for notebooks. It is a new processor for its "Core 2 Extreme" series and runs at 2.8 GHz. The new CPU also features a 4 MB L2 cache and 800 MHz FSB. The new CPU is manufactured with the 65nm process. It’s expected to appear in products from Asus, Dell and Medion within the next four weeks.

Titan released the TTC-G6TZ, a high performance notebook cooling pad with 4 silent fans. It produces 71.40 cfm airflow and its noise level reaches a maximum of 26 dBA. Featuring flexible angles, the TTC-G6TZ fits most notebooks from 12” to 20”. The cooling pad is powered from a USB port and weights 360g. and will be available in the end of August.

Toshiba Storage Device Division claims to have the world’s first 320 GB 2.5-inch HD 5,400 rpm, using 160 GB-per-platter design. Support the Serial ATA interface at a 3.0 Gbps data transfer rate.

The company also expanded into 7,200 rpm performance class with a family of products offering up to 200GB capacity.

Toshiba’s new HDD families are RoHS3 compliant and will begin production in the fourth quarter of 2007.
