Thermaltake Unveils Element G Mid-tower Case

Thermaltake has just increased its Element line-up with the launch of Element G mid-tower case (VL10001W2Z). Equipped with three 5 ¼” external bays, seven 3 ½” internal bays and two 2 ½” internal bays, this case targeted to gamers has seven slots for expansion cards and supports a watercooling solution. As for cooling, Element G features two 120-mm fans (one on the front panel and other on the top panel; fan speed ranging from 600 rpm to 800 rpm; maximum noise level of 14 dBA), one 140-mm rear fan (fan speed of 1,000 rpm and maximum noise level of 14 dBA), one 230-mm side fan (fan speed ranging from 600 rpm to 800 rpm; maximum noise level of 15 dBA) and places to install two 120-mm fans on the front panel and two 60-mm fans on the rear panel. All fans glow in six different colors and are controlled according to user’s preference from a knob located on top panel that is also used for controlling the speed of the fans. This case also has four USB ports, a security lock for keyboard and mouse and tool-less mechanisms for optical and hard drive and daughter cards installation. No word on pricing and availability.

Sparkle Announces GeForce GTX 275 with 1,792 MB GDDR3

Sparkle has announced the launch of a GeForce GTX 275 video card equipped with 1,792 MB GDDR3, double the amount found on standard models. This card uses GeForce GTX 275 reference clocks, i.e. internal clock of 633 MHz, memory clock of 2,268 MHz DDR (448-bit interface) and shader clock of 1,404 MHz, is a single-slot solution and features two DVI connectors. No word on pricing and availability.

Western Digital Unveils SiliconDrive III SSD Series

Western Digital has just entered the SSD business (thanks to the March 2009 acquisition of SiliconSystems) with the launch of SiliconDrive III SSD series. SiliconDrive III line-up include 2.5” and 1.8” SATA-300 (read speed of 100 MB/s and write speed of 80 MB/s) and 2.5” PATA (read speed of 85 MB/s and write speed of 60 MB/s) models in capacities up to 120 GB. No word on pricing and availability.

OCZ Intros XTC 2 Memory Cooler

OCZ has launched the second revision of their XTC (Xtreme Thermal Convection) memory cooler. The XTC 2 cooler is compatible with DDR, DDR2 and DDR3 memories, and features two 60-mm fans that glow in blue when turned on. This cooler measures 3.18” x 2.67” x 5.82” or 8.1 cm x 6.8 cm x 14.8 cm (H x D x W) and will reach the market soon, but OCZ didn’t inform its price tag.

Kingston has unveiled DataTraveler 200 flash memory series, including 32 GB (USD 120), 64 GB (USD 213) and 128 GB (USD 546) models. DataTraveler 200 products have a retractile USB connector, support ReadyBoost technology, a feature brought by Windows Vista that allows flash memories to be used as a disk cache in order to improve the system performance, and Password Traveler software, which allows the users to create and access a password-protected area of the drive.

G.Skill Rolls Out DDR3-2133 Perfect Storm Memory Kit

G.Skill has launched a 6 GB (3 x 2 GB) triple-channel DDR3-2133 memory kit. This new kit is available in the G.Skill Perfect Storm family and its memory modules work at 2,133 MHz with 9-9-9-24 timings at 1.65 V. Paired with the new Perfect Storm kit launch, G.Skill also put on the market Turbulence memory cooler (featuring a fan with speed of 3,500 rpm; maximum noise level of 21.2 dBA; maximum air flow or 7.75 CFM). Sparkle Releases GeForce GTX 260 Calibre

Sparkle has extended its Calibre line-up with the launch of GeForce GTX 260 (X265/X265HM). By using the SPA Tune utility this card can be configured to work in three modes: green mode (internal clock of 400 MHz, shader clock of 800 MHz and memory clock of 600 MHz DDR), standard mode (internal clock of 576 MHz, shader clock of 1,242 MHz and memory clock of 1,998 MHz DDR) or overclocking mode (internal clock of 666 MHz, shader clock of 1,476 MHz and memory clock of 2,268 MHz DDR). This product features the second version of the Calibre Fly cooler, which has four copper heat-pipes, an aluminum base and two 80-mm fans, 896 MB GDDR3 (448-bit interface), 216 shader units and two dual DVI-I connectors. nVidia Announces its First 40-nm GPUs

nVidia has just announced the launch of its first mobile GPUs based on the new 40-nm manufacturing technology. These chips support DirectX 10.1 and feature GDDR5 memories (some models). On the table below you can see the main specs for the announced GPUs. nVidia didn’t say when they will release desktop graphics cards based on 40-nm manufacturing technology. Bear in mind that AMD/ATI has already launched its 40-nm desktop graphics card, the Radeon HD 4770.

Scythe has announced the launch of FenrisWolf (SCFW-1000), an aluminum mid-tower case designed in collaboration with the well-known German CaseModder Benjamin "benny" Franz. Patriot Gives 3DMark Vantage Software with Viper II Memory Kits

Patriot has announced the launch of three Viper II DDR3 memory kits that come with the benchmarking software Futuremark 3DMark Vantage (customers will be supplied with an activation code in which they can go to Futuremark's website and download 3DMark Vantage). The following kits were announced:

  • PV236G1800LLKB: 6 GB (2 GB x 3) DDR3 triple-channel kit clocked at 1,800 MHz with 8-8-8-24 timings at 1.65 V.
  • PV236G1866LLKB: 6 GB (2 GB x 3) DDR3 triple-channel kit clocked at 1,866 MHz with 7-8-8-24 timings at 1.65 V.
  • PV236G2000LLKB: 6 GB (2 GB x 3) DDR3 triple-channel kit clocked at 2,000 MHz with 8-8-8-24 timings at 1.65 V.

Antec Launches Mini Skeleton-90 Case

Antec has launched a miniaturized version of its Skeleton case (that looks more like a portable stove than with a PC case) called Mini Skeleton-90. This new little case measures 7.5" x 8.3" x 9.1" or 19 cm x 21 cm x 23 cm (H x W x D), weights 5.5 lbs (2.5 Kg), has a 5 ¼” external bay, four 2.5” internal bays, a top 150-mm fan (with 3-speed control; glow in blue when turned on), a rear 70-mm fan, two USB ports and audio connectors.
