Intel Launches 32 nm Atom CPUs

The new Atom processors are D2500 (two cores, 1.86 GHz) and D2700 (two cores, 2.13 GHz). Both feature 1 MB of L2 cache, a built-in DDR3-800/1066 memory controller, a DirectX 10.1 graphics engine running at 640 MHz (D2700) or 400 MHz (D2500), and a TDP of 10 W. These chips also provide support for HDMI, DisplayPort, 1080p video playback, and Intel Wireless Display, PC Synch and Fast Boot technologies. The Atom D2700 supports Hyper-Threading technology and is priced at USD 52, while the Atom D2500 costs USD 42, in 1,000-unit quantities.
