The Octane will be available in two versions: one with SATA-600 interface (Octane) and one with SATA-300 interface (Octane-S2). The Octane models feature synchronous memory and provide maximum read and write speeds of up to 560 MB/s and 400 MB/s, respectively. The Octane-S2 models, on the other hand, use asynchronous memory and provide maximum read and write speeds of up to 275 MB/s and 265 MB/s, respectively. The Octane family has 512 MB of DRAM cache and provides support for TRIM, NCQ, and AES encryption.
