It is based on diamond sputtering, where a diamond-like carbon (DLC) membrane is added on the video card heatsink’s fins. According to Sparkle with this technique the heat generated by the GPU and memory chips is transferred quicker, thus improving the overall performance of the cooler. In tests conducted by Sparkle, the working temperature of one GeForce 9500 GT could be reduced by 5° C using diamond-like carbon membrane when compared with a traditional cooling solution. In addition to improving heat dissipation, the use of diamond-like carbon membrane helps protect the fins from scratches.
