NVIDIA Unveils the GeForce GTX 690

NVIDIA has just announced their dual-GPU video card based on the newest NVIDIA’s 28-nm Kepler architecture. The GeForce GTX 690 is a monster powered by two GeForce GTX 680 GPUs (915 MHz/1,019 MHz), 3,072 processors, 4 GB of GDDR5 memory accessed at 6.008 GHz through two 256-bit interfaces, and more than 7 billion transistors. As for power consumption, the GTX 690 has a TDP of 300 W. The card’s exterior frame is made from trivalent chromium-plated aluminum, providing excellent strength and durability. The cooling solution is equipped with two vapor chambers, nickel-plated fins and an axial fan. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 video card will be available in limited quantities starting May 3, 2012, with wider availability by May 7, 2012 from NVIDIA’s add-in card partners, including ASUS, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Inno3D, MSI, Palit and Zotac.
