NVIDIA is preparing for the 27th June with the launch of its Shield portable gaming device. The Shield is a portable game console powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 4 chip (quad core ARM Cortex-A15 CPU and 72 custom GPU cores). It provides a full console-grade controller with two joysticks, a D-pad, ABXY buttons, left/right bumpers, left/right analog triggers, Start/Back/Home/Volume buttons, and a multi-function NVIDIA/Power button. A lid flips up on the top to reveal an integrated 5-inch (1280x720) HD touchscreen display.
NVIDIA has decided to lower the Shield price from USD 349 to USD 299. Those that already pre-ordered the Shield should not worry as they will be charged the new lower price as soon as the product ships.
