As its name implies, this card is based on the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 GPU and make use of the MSI’s Twin Frozr III dual-slot cooling solution (two 90 mm fans and two 8-mm heatpipes) that reduces the temperature by 18°C when compared to the reference design. The new N480GTX Lightning works internally at 750 MHz (7.14% above the stock clock of 700 MHz), has 1,536 MB of GDDR5 accessed at 4 GHz QDR (8.23% above the stock clock of 3,696 MHz QDR) through a 384 bit interface. This card also features two DVI, one HDMI, and one DisplayPort gold-plated connectors, a 16-phase voltage regulator circuit, and military-class components (Hi-c caps, solid ferrite chokes, and solid caps). According to MSI, the N480GTX Lightning created the new 3DMark Vantage world record at 39281 points.
