MSI has just expanded their Hawk series of video card with the launch of the R6870 Hawk, a factory-overclocked card based on the Radeon HD 6870 GPU.

This video card works internally at 930 MHz (3.33% above the stock clock of 900 MHz), has 1 GB of GDDR5 memory accessed at 4,200 MHz (the same clock as the stock model) through a 256-bit interface, and DVI, HDMI and mini DisplayPort video outputs.

It comes with the MSI’s Twin Frozr III dual-slot cooling solution (two 80 mm fans, five 8-mm heatpipes, nickel-plated copper base, and a new propeller blade technology) that reduces the temperature by 20°C and noise by 7 dB when compared to the reference design.

The R6870 Hawk video card features a 10-phase voltage regulator circuit, APS (Active Phase Switching, which enables or disables phases according to the GPU load), military class components, voltage check points, and over current protection (OCP).

MSI didn't mention the suggested price of this new card.
