Gigabyte has announced a new line of motherboards designed for the upcoming AMD’s 32nm CPUs (based on the Bulldozer architecture). These CPUs require a new CPU socket, dubbed AM3+, which will be compatible with current socket 45nm AM3 processors. Socket AM3+ CPUs will not be compatible with socket AM3 motherboards unless there is a BIOS upgrade. The Gigabyte AM3+ “Black Socket” line-up is comprised of 16 models. All of them feature a black CPU socket, making it easy to locate for AM3+ support. On the table below you can see the “Black Socket” members.  click to enlarge
