The machines are set to hit the market by the end of the year. Dell did not disclose plans to use AMD chips in desktops or notebooks. The timing of the move is somewhat odd since Intel is about to unveil its new Woodcrest processor, based on the Core architecture, which is largely expected to restore competitiveness on the server front.
