HQV, or Hollywood Quality Video, is a series of video processors from IDT available in high-end home theater systems. These processors are capable of enhancing 2D video by using noise-reduction filters, de-interlacing (i.e., converting videos in interlaced scanning to progressive scanning), and scaling (converting the original video resolution to a higher resolution). Usually, hardware-based solutions like the IDT HQV processors present better performance and quality than using software-based solutions. For more information on this series of video processors, visit http://www.hqv.com.

Galaxy is the first video card manufacturer to offer a PC video card with a high-end HQV processor. The Galaxy GeForce GTX 550 Ti HQV uses an IDT HQV Vida (VHD1900) video processor, an IT6603 HDMI receiver, a CAT6613 HDMI transmitter, a TMDS261B HDMI switch, and an AT32UC3B1128 microcontroller.
