It promises performance improvements in OpenGL applications across the Radeon X1000 series and additional gains in apps that make heavy use of memory on 256 MB cards. As expected, the new package also solves a variety of bugs. The Linux release includes a feature called Pairmode, which allows users to enable BigDesktop mode with different screen resolutions, and retaining display device status between restarts.
