ASUS Launches First Intel Thunderbolt Certified Motherboard

Thunderbolt is a high-speed data connection technology that provides a maximum transfer rate of 10 Gbps. Just to give you an idea, USB 3.0 provides a maximum transfer rate of 5 Gbps. The ASUS P8Z77-V PREMIUM is the first Thunderbolt motherboard to be certified by Intel. It comes with four PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, six USB 3.0 ports, six SATA-600 ports, three SATA-300 ports, two eSATA-600 ports, and a 32 GB SSD cache onboard.
