AMD Launches Quad FX Plataform

The new plataform is based on two Athlon 64 FX dual-core processors. ASUS L1N64-SLI WS will be one of the first motherboard to use the new plataform. The new processor FX-70 has clock frequency of 2600 MHz, system bus tech of 2000 MHz and voltage of 1.35-1.40. Its maximum temperature is 55-63ºC. The FX-72 has clock frequency of 2800 MHz, system bus tech of 2000 MHz and voltage of 1.35-1.40. Its maximum temperature is also 55-63ºC. The FX-74 has clock frequency of 3000 MHz, system bus tech of 2000 MHz and voltage of 1.35-1.40. Its maximum temperature is 56ºC. All of them use AMD’s socket F and are manufactured using a 90nm SOI process.  AMD is shipping the FX-74, FX-72 and FX-70 in pairs at USD 999, USD 799 and USD 599, respectively.
