Here is AMD’s response to the NVIDIA GTX 680 video card, the Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition. In December 2011, AMD introduced the Radeon HD 7970 that was shown to be slower than the GTX 680 launched three months ago. So, AMD decided to upgrade the Radeon HD 7970 with higher clock speeds and named this new version the Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition.
