ASUS has introduced three motherboads based on Intel’s G965. The chipset, aimed at Core 2 Duo processors, includes on-board GMA X3000 graphics and incorporates Clear Video Technology for enhanced 3D and multimedia. The P5B-V series - consisting of the P5B-V itself, the P5B-VM and the top-of-the line P5B-V DH DELUXE/HDMI - also offer a set of ASUS’ proprietary performance control tools (AI NOS, AI Gear and AI Nap). Specifications are as follows:

- 4x DIMM sockets (8 GB max.)
- 1x Ultra DMA 133 port
- 6x Serial ATA 3 Gb/s ports
- 2x PCI-E x16 slots (one on VM model)
- 1x PCI-E x4 slot (VM model only)
- 2x PCI-E x1 slots (except VM model)
- 3x PCI slots (two on VM model)
- Gigabit LAN
- Wireless LAN (DH Deluxe model only)
- HDMI/DVI output (DH Deluxe model only)
- 8-channel high-def audio
- 10x USB 2.0 ports
- 2x FireWire ports
- MicroATX form factor
