Video standard created by IBM in 1987, allowing a video resolution of 1024x768 with up to 256 simultaneous colors from a 262,144 color palette. As you can see, this color standard is similar to VGA but with a greater resolution.

8514/A video card were created to the PS/2 computer series from IBM using MCA bus and required a VGA video card (it didn't work without a VGA card installed).
