Central Processing Unit
CPU is synonym of microprocessor, the main computer chip - it's "brain" -, in charge of executing instructions.
Unfortunately some people call the whole computer as "CPU", which is technically wrong. Calling the whole computer as "CPU" equals to call your whole car as "engine" - it doesn't make sense. Related Terms:
