With this technique the device achieves a transfer rate four times higher compared to a standard device using regular transmission under the same clock rate. This technique is used on the external bus of Intel processors like Celeron D and Pentium 4. Since the device achieves a quadrupled performance, normally the clock informed by the manufacturer isn’t the device real clock but its “performance”.
