Mask-ROM

Mask Read Only Memory

Kind of ROM memory. ROM memory is a type of integrated circuit that contains a program inside of it. This program cannot be modified while being run, hence the name "read only". Another feature of ROM memories is that their contents aren't erased when they are turned off, contrary to what happens to RAM memories.

On Mask-ROM circuit, the program is recorded during the chipo manufacturing process, hence its name (the program is recorded on the chip manufacturing mask).
