Gigabyte EX58 Extreme main features are:

  • Chipset: Intel X58 with ICH10R.
  • Super I/O: ITE IT8720F.
  • Clock generator: ICS 9LPRS914EKLF.
  • Parallel IDE: One ATA-133 port controlled by a proprietary Gigabyte chip.
  • Serial IDE: Six SATA-300 ports, controlled by the south bridge chip, supporting RAID 0, 1, 0+1 e 5 and four SATA-300 ports, controlled by two JMB322 chips, supporting RAID 0, 1 and JBOD.
  • SAS: No.
  • USB: 12 USB 2.0 ports (eight soldered on the motherboard and four available by internal headers).
  • Firewire (IEEE 1394a): Three ports controlled by a Texas Instrument TSB43AB23 chip, one soldered on the motherboard and two available by internal headers.

  • Slots: Three PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots (working at x16/x16/x1 or x16/x8/x8), one PCI Express x4, one PCI Express x1 slot and two standard PCI slots, supporting CrossFire and SLI.
  • Memory: Six DDR3-DIMM sockets (up to 24 GB up to DDR3-2100/PC3-16800).
  • Number of CDs/DVDs that come with this motherboard: The sample we received came with no CD or accessories.
  • Extra features: Japanese aluminum solid capacitors, 16-phase voltage regulator circuit with ferrite chokes and low RDS(on) transistors, POST diagnostics display, clear CMOS button on back panel, dual BIOS, waterblock on chipset, vertical heat dissipator.
