  • Socket: 1366.
  • Chipset: Intel X58 with ICH10R.
  • Super I/O: Winbond W83667HG
  • Clock generator: ICS 9LPRS918JKLF
  • Parallel IDE: One ATA-133 port controlled by a Marvel 88SE6111 chip.
  • Serial IDE: Six SATA-300 ports controlled by the south bridge chip, supporting RAID 0, 1, 0+1 and 5 and one eSATA-300 port controlled by a Marvell 88SE6111 chip.
  • SAS: Two SAS ports controlled by a Marvell 88SE6320 chip, supporting RAID 0 and 1.
  • USB: Fourteen USB 2.0 ports (eight soldered on the motherboard and six available thru I/O brackets).
  • Firewire (IEEE 1394a): Two ports controlled by VIA VT6308 chip, one soldered on the motherboard and one available thru an I/O bracket.
  • On-board audio: Produced by the chipset together with an Analog Devices AD2000B codec (eight channels). No reference to this codec on Analog Devices’ website, rumor is that this is an AD1989B manufactured exclusively for ASUS. On-board coaxial and optical SPDIF outputs.
  • On-board video: No.
  • On-board LAN: Two Gigabit Ethernet ports controlled by two Marvell 88E8056 chips, which are connected to the system thru PCI Express lanes.
  • Buzzer: No.
  • Power supply: EPS12V or ATX12V.
  • Slots: Three PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots (working at x16/x16/x1 or x16/x8/x8), one PCI Express x4 slot and two standard PCI slots, supporting CrossFire and SLI.
  • Memory: Six DDR3-DIMM sockets (up to 12 GB up to DDR3-1600/PC3-12800).
  • Number of CDs/DVDs that come with this motherboard: One.
  • Programs that come with this motherboard: motherboard drivers and utilities.
  • Extra features: Japanese aluminum solid capacitors, 16-phase voltage regulator circuit with ferrite chokes and low RDS(on) transistors, 2.5” LCD display (“OC Palm”) for overclocking control, instant loading of web browser and Skype without loading the operating system (“Express Gate”).
  • Average price in the US: We took a look on this motherboard before it reached the market.
